Like the text in designs #1 and #3 - the italicized 'ACTI.ON' really does suggest movement and activity.

I'd like to see graphical representations that really suggest 'students'. As per the brief, this is the first of a family of logos that need to represent different groups at a glance (i.e. students, women, communities, workplaces, etc.).

I like the stylized mortarboard theme of #1 and #2 (preferring the simpler logo of #1) - it's a strong visible link to this group, but my challenge to everyone is whether you can come up with something even stronger . Also, it should be 'Students in Action' on #1 and #2, not 'Student in Action'.

Because there will be a series of logos (see brief), it is good to really keep the colors and the logo simple.

As I mentioned on a previous comment, I really like 'Action' being italicized, as it really does suggest action and energy.

In #9 and #10, I like the mortarboard, but using it as the letter 'T' doesn't work at first glance (maybe the design is a little too busy)... the 'S' gets lost, and so people can be left wondering about 'UDENTS'

Really like some of the key design elements on #14 , #15 and #16 .

The font is great - very clean, and again, like the italicized 'action'

Like the graphic denoting students in #16 , but not sure what the star blaze signifies.

Really like the mortarboard on the 'e' in #14 , but not sure how that theme could be carried through to other categories. I don't like the starburst replacing the 'o' on this one.

Don't like the starburst / mortarboard combo on this one.

Would like to see how revised versions of these would work for print - i.e. on white background

I like #31 for the nice color combination, clean font, and simple graphic denoting both the target demographic and action. I can see this working on the website, printed materials and things like t-shirts. Well done!

I like #30 for all of the same reasons as above, but the black font on blue background isn't working for me.

I like the simplicity of #21 (two-color, graphic) but I'd like to see the text (font and layout) look more like #31 and #30.

I like #24, #22 and #20 for their simplicity, but while the stylized 'SIA' icon is great, I don't think that it will work as part of a series of different constituents (e.g. Communities, Women, Employees, Leaders, etc.)

The red exclamation point (in place of the 'i' in 'action') in #27, #28 and #29 doesn't work for me.

I like the simplified two-color combination of #31 and #34.

I like the font selection for #32, but not sure about 'in' being placed within the 'a' of 'action'

Also been getting additional feedback, and one request is to consider how we could work the logo of our parent organization into the design (it can be downloaded from http://theyouthserviceinitiative.org/views/images/downloads/JeffersonAwardsLogo.jpg). My own view is that that level of detail will add complexity to a simple design, but I'd love to see your ideas and thoughts.

Please continue to post your designs. We're all very much enjoying seeing them!

Not sure that I like the color combination of #35, but I do like that we're seeing a different interpretation of the student icon.

I like the repositioning of 'in' in #36.

Still really likin the color combos of #31 and #34

No-one has tried to work in our Jefferson Awards logo (http://theyouthserviceinitiative.org/views/images/downloads/JeffersonAwardsLogo.jpg), yet... maybe a yellow circle would signify it. If not, we can always link things by having "A program of the Jefferson Awards for Public Service" under the logo.

Question: Do you/your company own all rights to the Jefferson Awards Logo?

Otherwise it could get tricky with copyright issues if you include it in the logo...

Like the font on #51, but still prefer the stylized representation of students in #31 and #34.

Like #42 and #43, but can be mistaken for a bouquet of flowers. Also, it will be difficult to extend the same approach to our other constituencies, e.g. communities.

#50 and #45. I like that you've tried to use our current parent logo as a starting point, butI'm looking for something that really suggests the group we're talking about (i.e. students) and action.

In answer to Karin's question, yes, we do have all rights to our current logo.
