St Pio AcademyLogo Design Contest

Really nice, and I love the colors. I would love to see this with some kind of a symbol in the logo. Not sure what ... a shield maybe? The school is Catholic .. maybe a cross or some other Christian symbol? Anyway the font, colors, and layout are very attractive. Thank you!

Padre Pio had a devotion to the Eucharist. Maybe that imagery would be nice. Here are two ideas:

I really like #2. Its lines are simple and neat.

The more I think about it, the more I think I'd like to have the monstrance in the background, sort of glowing, with the school's name written in a layer on top of it. I like this glowing effect:

but would like to see it built into a monstrance, more like this:

The problem w/ that last one, though, is the background. The blue and purple are awful. I was hoping for a white or transparent background on the logo.

I like the burgundy in #2, but would rather pair it with a charcoal grey or caspian blue or french blue (or a hair darker).

1. Is there a way to make the monstrance softer, less like line art?
2. Can we do the outline in something other than burgundy?
