Hi! I looked at the brief, and although the colours are different, I've tried my best to make the logo look
detailed yet simple, I guess sophisticated or elegant.. I also took into account the type of work.
that a roof can get pretty hot and is best left to the professionals. Hence the colours to invoke that type of
visual. anyway I hope you like it. I think it looks really professional and cover the word square
and also the geometric reference of the word as in 'level' or 'flush'...

Very good font, colors and gradient. I appreciate your simple approach and keep it that way, but i need it to be simple given that all things in the brief are included. Can you do something different with the design on top of the words? It needs to be fluid btwn residential and commercial roofing, incorporate green roofing and have 3D feel. In the end I need a logo that will help one understand all these things with one glance, since most people will drive past the sign.

Logo Designer
ok... this is quite revised... I tried to put everything you mentioned in... the final outcome I think captures the essence in an efficient way, while still saying ROOFING it also says straight away ENVIRONMENT or GREEN
the cube has a commercial level aspect to it while also doubling as the suns rays.. So basically all the elements are there together and I think it works.. especially with the word ROOFING quite large.
You would also use the bullet points for the areas you specialise :Commercial :Residential :Environmental etc
I guess... Well maybe the bullet points would appear on vehicle windows so they can be altered when required.

Obviously the design could be enlarged twice as big as the words for a vehicle graphic..

Can you try blue and black lettering, or even dark-gray lettering? Some of the backgrounds I use are gray.

Client
I meant blue, black OR dark-gray.

the image seems a little confusing on #277.

Client
can you try a more clear image on #277? Color combinations are good, see if you can incorporate blue instead of gray for the image.

Logo Designer
right.. yeah, I'm just putting up a revision of the blue roof, also a few simplified versions to look at.. of course the final design can be customised in a few colour ways to suit.. placement of text etc can all be repositioned to suit the media to be printed or the space to be filled etc..

Just so you know I need a white background to be able to compare the designs properly.

Logo Designer
white background.... also have supplied a larger stacked version to zoom in closer..

Client
got it thanks

this one has the sans serif (block letters) font #380
12 years ago

Logo Designer
this design #380 looks the best out of the bunch in line with your product and the most versatile for future alteration if required.. it says the three points enironment, commercial and residential roofing, and definitely speaks those points straight away. I like the block lettering it looks way more professional and technological or technical..

if i have a commercial roof I'm going to see the cube and think I wonder if they do commercial roofing,
If I have a house I'll see the roof tops and think they probably do houses
if I have a green roof I'll see the solar panels and think they probably do green roofing, i'll give them a call.
to reinforce those points you would have bullet points indicating what you do in your advertising.
all that would come forst before the logo, but this logo will reinforce those services.
it can also be simplified later on to just the rooftops and the beams of light if required.

I like #381 the best with the image of #382. The blue under the lines that represent the roofs may imply flooding. Very good analysis!

#383 has the best shadow.

#388 Incorporates the sun and green planet design with the traditional trajan pro typeface..I think it's a similar font used on John Grisham Books

Client
Thanks. Can you do something about the blue part of the image? It may imply flooding, which is the worst nightmare for my clients.

Client
Thanks for the updates. I don't know what fonts you have but I was able to find the proper names/descriptions of fonts I want. Don't worry about this message if you already have these fonts: San-serif(eurostile), possible slab serif, forward thinking, authoritative, solid, construction, sporty, no italics. I like your font use so far, but if you haven't tried the above ones, give it a shot.

I used a nice roof terracotta colour for the rooftops to coinside with traditional (or most well known) roof tile colours, also added a few variations to check out for the font based on your suggestion (good suggestion)
works a treat for tradesman logos, very professional look.

#397 I upscaled the S for Square to give the name a lift for ease of Ledgibility...

#401 is my pick... I can see all the other designers in these contests try hard to make their logo stand out more than the other designers to win the gold trophy, but that has nothing to do with a brand.. the way a logo stands out is by vigourous advertising and marketing strategy and then the logo starts to do it's job. the service or product becomes known and accepted and then the logo becomes accepted..

Being a trade, what you really want to avoid is finding your logo becoming a nightmare to get printed onto t-shirts or hats due to the complexity/detail in the image..

for #401 you can also try using the same font but make it more 3D-like/shiny/sharp/professional (I wouldn't know what the right terms designers use).

simplified version, green on top, more 3d shading, shiny lettering, blue sky, glowing sun #421

#424 this one I removed some of the shading of the edges of the text so it's a lot clearer

Also.. the lettering has been spaced out a touch to match the width of the line of the rooftops in the image

I see with the sphere and the letterbox logos in first and second place at the moment
that the sphere I have seen somewhere on this site before and the letterbox, well it looks more like a mail box
