Hey, thanks for the design. Like this concept a lot. Took me a while to pick one out. Can we make the color a bit more vibrant? I'd like the orange be more red and blue darker (like to two colors used on Firefox log). Try some gradient on both colors. Also I wonder what it looks like with some web 2.0 effects (glossy/shadow etc.).
Also a general, how do I use the logs with background colors? Do I have to always use it on that one background? What if I want to use it on a white background. bear with me for my ignorance...
Thank you very much for your feedback. I really appreciate it. Regarding your question. I'm trying to show you how the logo would looks like in the white background (as show on #107), dark background (#108) and monotone/watermark logo usage (#109). And since we are using the orange and blue vibrant color as a combination, it would be recommended to use a solid dark blue or dark orange to pop up the logo and make it harmony.
Here are the versions based on your request (#110 & #111). I hope you like :)
Thanks. Like the concept a lot. It conveys a fun gaming company message very well. The only thing that I give up is the subtle 'S' shape in the pictorial mark (I guess it's not trivial to embed it into this concept, it it?). I like the one without glossy effect better. The other thing that I'd like to try is the cubes without 0's and 1's and maybe use various colors for the cube pieces (in addition to the orange and blue). After all this is a high-tech toy company and it doesn't hurt to have a few more vibrant colors (like red). Thanks.
Thanks for the new designs. The only tweak that I'd suggest is the color of the little piece at the top of the cube. It's color is too close to the dragon. It is visually blend into the dragon more than the cube. Since it is the only piece on top of the cube, the entired 3D effect of the cube is comprimised a little. Could we make the color a bit more distinct?
Another thing I still would like to try out is the web 2.0 effects. This time I'd like it be subtle. Just add a little 3D/glossy effect to the edges of each separate piece and a shadow of the whole picture at the bottom. I am not sure about the word mark. Does it alway go with the prictoral mark as far as the web 2.0 effects are concerned? We could leave the word mark as is or just add a little effect to the edges.
A quick separate question. I like the current layout. But if the vertical space is limited. Can I rearrange the pictoral mark and put is in front the word mark? Are they in separate layers? Thanks.
I'm working on the version as you requested and send it to you ASAP. And yes. You can rearrange the pictorial mark and put it anywhere you want since they are in separate layers.
Thanks a lot. Like the new design especially the pictoral mark. For the word mark I'd like to have a straight glossy line (as opposed to the current curve line) or keep it without the glossy effect. You don't have to worry about this today as it's already too late your time I believe. Thanks.
I'm really sorry for the delay. I've just get back to my computer. Here are the versions as you requested. #131 : a wordmark with a straight line glossy effect #132 : a wordmark without glossy effect.
Oh, just a minor request. The subtle effect of letter r cutting into i and L cutting into o is lost after the glossy effect in the word mark. I wonder if you could bring them back (see #112 for the effect). Thanks.
Thanks for the updates. They look great. The only thing that I need is to tweek the color a little bit. I like the orange-ish red more than the dark red (burgundy) color for the tail part of the dragon. I'd appreciate it if you could make a little adjustment. Thanks.
I am still debating whether to use the one with glossy effect or the one without. Does it cost more to create a sign with the golly effect. Is there anything in general that I need to considered when choosing logos with Web 2.0 effect? Thanks.
I'm sorry again for the delay. Regarding your question, designing for print (1-4 color tone) and designing for the web (with glossy effects, shadow, etc) can be kind of like being a double agent. You almost need to have two completely different design personalities, because what works on paper can look terrible on the web, and what works online doesn’t always work on paper.
The Web 2.0 style will cost twice for color separation printing, but with results that are also nice to see, modern and clean. It all depends on your needs and how the logo will interact with your clients/customers. And for the signage, the web 2.0 style it usually transferred via digital prints, flexibly canvas and vinyl, it is very different case because of the cost of printing is highly dependent on the number of prints, more prints lower price. And as a designer who understands this issue, I usually make two models of design (web and print) that can be used in 2 mediums separately. Hope that helps.
Don't worry. I understand everybody is busy. Thank you for the new design.
Putting them side by side I still like #165 with a touch of red. So I kept it intact. So at the end of the contest you are going to give me two designs, one for web and one for print? Can I take a look what it look like for the print version?
I wonder if I could get one version with glossy effect and another one without? But either way if you could show me both versions it would help me to make a decision. Thanks.
Thank you very much for your feedback. And again, my big apologize for the delayed response.
I've just read your comments. And regarding for your question, I'm afraid I can't answer your question at this moment. Since there is a regulation about this. All I can say is, the logo files provided by designers on every winning design would cover up all of your needs to apply the logo including printing and web imaging. I really hope you can understand this situation.
