i really liked the colours in the original logo, so i stylised the hand so it was more up to todays digital standards and i put a smiling sun inside the hand (with the spanish colours yellow and red). The letters in the font were given the same colours as the hand. i rotated some of the letters to make it more playful.
#9 less playful, better. Still not sure about the stylized hand for some reason, maybe too iconic? The name needs more umph, but the SIW (as we sometimes refer to ourselves in copy) is more noticeable, like that. Try the name with more prominance, more equal to the hand and maybe the whole thing more horizontal than verticle. Play with the font a bit.
In this version kids hold hands and talk to each other (heads are also text bubbels). The children have different colors for different nationalities (non excisting, but to enhance the idea of beiing from different countries yet still beiing able to communicate with eachother)
#40 Nice concept wackman and your description really adds to it. Unfortunately one of our competitors uses a logo with a top down view of children holding hands in a circle (more of an illustration than abstract) so we don't really want to use anything that similar. Sorry about that. We'll still rank the entry.
Not sure how to best help direct you. In general, your designs are very modern iconic and it seems that we are liking things that are a little less so. We really do appreciate your entries (but didn't like #35) ;-)
i'm not really seeing the logo you're describing (top down view of children holding hands...) to be honest. the most important thing in my concept is the head being a text bubble also. so maybe i'll try something different in that direction.
What I meant by top down is the view with the feet out and heads in the middle with hands creating the circle, as if the kids were laying down and viewed from above.
One other thing I wanted to mention to you is we are generally liking fonts that are less roundish. Ok, hope that helps.
#48 is pertty interesting, it's the most playful of the designs we like. For many of our uses we will need a more horizontal version, can you show a version with the name to the right of graphic and also one with the name in a color other than black? The letters of the words in the text bubbles are interesting too, but are hard to see, not sure if it's worth making them darker because that may clutter up the design. Any thoughts? This is not a big deal but wanted to mention it.
no problem, unfortunately i can not do that right now. my work computer crashed this afternoon and i will have to get it fixed tomorrow......... so sorry about that. i don't have the file on my laptop.
so i hope i can do this for you as soon as possible..
Ok, sorry about that. When you get things working again, the other version we'd really like to see is with the bubbles & 'SIW' removed from the graphic with the horizontal layout as previously described. (Almost didn't want to ask for this because the bubbles were kind of the center of your concept... sorry)
got a new harddisk and installing programs now...... so ho knows. hopefully everything will work.. so can''t promice anything yet. but at least it seams like i will be up and runnign soon.
wow thanx for the extra time! i'm still having difficulties with my designing program (adobe Illustrator), but most programs seem to work just fine (and i still have all my files :)). i think most problems will be resolved within the timeframe of the contest.
well, got the programs working thank god. the only thing NOT working is my mail (as far as i can tell), but luckily uploading is done with the browser and i still have the laptop for mailing. Here are some new entries. i will try to look for some other solutions/ options in the coming days. any comment is welcome.
Glad things are working again. #129 & #130 are ok but seem incomplete somehow, like the previous versions better even thouhg they are more vertical than horizontal. #137 We like it, solved the problem with 129 & 130. Using 137 try a layout with 'spanish' & 'immersion' on either on the same line or with equal importance because we like the emphasis this places on those two words as opposed to just 'spanish', like some of the other entries (e.g. #1, #2). It doesn't have to be exactly like that if you can come up with something different, we can always change it. The tricky part of this will be how to keep it from being really long, we'll see. Thx.
We are liking #143 and would like to see the words in something other than black, whatever you think will look good. Also is there another font for the 'spanish immersion' that is less pushed together? (might be tough because it's long, but see what you can do, even if you have to place them slightly differently somehow). Thanks.
some different colors for text and a different layout for some. #202 has a new thing gloing for it i think. it's more compact, yet still horizontally orientated.
if you'd like to see anpother color combination, be sure to ask.
