I had another idea today. I was thinking of a nautical compass design with the primary arrow pointing south, instead of north.

If any of the designers need to get a feel of our local landscape, I cover a territory that lies between Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. If I were to go with a nautical logo design, another possible slogan could be "From the Bay to the Beach."

Looking for a traditional nautical compass design. The primary direction of these designs that I see in photos and in artwork points north and has an "N" above the north arrow. I was thinking about the SAL in the middle of the design, with the primary arrow pointing south and an "S" in a neat scripted font.

Another idea nautical idea would incorporate sailboats. We live on the coast, so anything nautical or having to do with water or the beach would be of interest.
