Cinda - Welcome to Logo Tournament. I am sorry for all of the arguing that seems to have accompanied your contest. It does not represent us well. This is a talented community and sometimes human nature takes a bad turn.
My designs for you are simple but VERY versatile. They are of an abstract "rocket SOARing" into space. The simplicity of the icon is reminiscent of facebook and apple etc...who have made their icons easy to notice and remember. It can be used in many ways...inside the wordmark or beside and on top. I will also give you a square version which would suite you well for web uses, and future apps icons as well. Regards, Paul
Thanks for the comments about the contest. Although I didn't expect any controversy, I wanted to maintain my dignity and integrity with what I have said and done. I like #138 and #144 best of your designs. I may not get the designs re-ranked prior to the end of the contest. I will be reviewing them quite closely again during the Judging phase. I hope to goodness I can still rank during Judging because I haven't checked those rules/guidelines closely yet.
Yes you can rank during judging. Only the top ranked designer can make changes during judging, but even then you are allowed to re-rank to allow others to make changes during judging.
#138 and #144: could you explain the nuance of soar being two colors or maybe it's two gradients of same color? We've had some discussions about not having the gradients and just seeing soar in one solid color. I'm going to put #138 as #1 for you to provide a different version with soar in one solid color (your choice of color - whatever you think would go best with the image)
#138: I love how you have this image hovering just slightly off the ground
Lucinda - It is simply light reflecting off of the word mark. It is similar to what you would see reflected across the menu at the top of the Logo Tournament menu....it can easily be removed. The same is true with the soaring sphere. It just helps to add depth and dimension. It makes it a full sphere instead of a 2D circle. I will try and upload some single color variations this evening or first thing in the AM.
#138: I just read my request and I wanted to make sure that I'm clear - Please KEEP the sphere - it's just the "s" "a" and "r" that we want to see in solid color
#144: if you could show this one with whole word "soar" as solid color that would be great also
