Smart Start ToysLogo Design Contest

I like the font choice on #13 but am not too sure about the blocks. Too big? I kind of wish there was a young child somewhere. Definitely like #13 better than #1, now that it has the richer colors.
I'd like to stay away from the "country" look of #4 and #8. Smart Start Toys does sell many wooden toys but our emphasis is more on the educational value, creativity, and environmental responsibility of wooden toys rather than on the simplicity and "home-grown" country quality of the toys.
#10 is fun and the color mix is eye-catching and easy to read. Can you work on incorporating something other than a lightbulb?
I like #15 but the company name is too small -- the other letter blocks overwhelm it. Can you keep working on that concept?
There's some potential with #2-4 and #6 but I find the yellow letters hard to read.
The smiley-face in the last block on #14 is a nice touch.

I've made a couple of changes in the "top 3 things for your logo to communicate" section of the brief. The key ideas to communicate are the educational/teaching quality of the toys, yet they're also playful and fun. However, it's also important for Smart Start Toys to be viewed as a trustworthy, widespread, large organization in the network marketing field. While we're currently in a launch phase, I expect the company will grow quickly and establish a good toehold in this industry. I want potential customers and potential salespeople to be immediately impressed with us as a new player in this market. Customers welcome us into their homes, and I want them to feel reassured that they will have a good experience, their toys will be delivered on time, and they and their friends will get good value. Salespeople will sign up only if they feel the company is reliable, its products will sell, and they're providing a unique shopping experience to their customers. Therefore, the logo has to have that "reliable large company that does things right" feel to it. Hope this makes sense!

I really like the new entries #33 and #34. They are similar in font choice and colors to the old logo for smarterkids.com, which merged with another company several years ago but was a pretty big internet toy retailer and was well-respected. I like the playful yet "clean" feel (if that makes any sense) of #33, #34, #26 and #27. It's very hard to rank them! Thanks so much for the great ideas -- please keep them coming! I'm working with a graphic designer on a catalog and hope to have her input in the next day or so.

Yikes, I feel like I've been pretty harsh with my new ranking, by putting so many in the "not interested" section. I wish there was a middle area, where I could say "Thank you SO MUCH for all your hard work, I can tell you put a lot of thought into this, but it's not quite the direction I was looking for." KWIM? I hope you don't get penalized when a design is put into the "not interested" section.
