these designs are fantastic - tks so much ysonmez, u obviously have a lot of talent ... these designs take SKIN ENGINEER to another levle that i hadn't even contemplated (I started out just thinking that a cool looking, easily readable text would do it), but you have totally changed that!
you have really caused my thinking to change ... i think all of these hit the brief, and appreciate the time you have taken to work up all the different variations ... i like how you have highlighted the orange part of the k, it really makes the logo jump out at you. it also reminds me of a 'less than sign ... mathematical symbol', and also doubles as an arrow looking object which i think is cool and to me suggests my brand is going places :), the other thing that i like, is that the logo looks good on either on a black or white background (this is hard to achieve) ... here is some specific feedback:
*#93 and #94 are my favourites of your design so far, ill be putting one of them as a top 3 on my next rank ... i like how it is all in the one line, as i intend to run the logo vertically along my packaging, i cant think of anything i can do to improve #93/#94 except maybe trying to extend the orange k a little so it extends out more then the rest of the font - if you could have a go at that, it would be great ... also if you have a second, could you please do a revision with just black and white (no orange) - this is just so i can get a feel on also how it would look on black and white business letterhead for example.
#103 and #102 , #97 are a bit too tricky with the E's as three lines ... tks for including them thou.
#98.#99, #100 ... i like where you are going with these (as above i intend to run the logo vertically along my packaging) and these would work well. my only concern with these are potential confusion about whether my brand is skin engineer, or engineer skin ... because i am going to try and direct men to buy my product online at www.skinengineer.com , (this website will be a very cool fully funcitoning website in abt 2mths time) i dont want to have confused clients not being sure of what my brand is. i like the concept of vertical branding thou - so if you could make it a bit clearer that would be great (fyi - i can already picture #93 and #94 running vertically so dont worry about flipping those around.
tks for your quick revision ... its now evident that the extended k makes zero sense and looks ridiculous, sry for making you do that - i think thats why u are the designer!!! i was just trying to take it up another lvl now but am unsure how i can do that (the extended k is obviously the wrong way), if u have any other ideas please go for it - would love to see them ... tks for doing the black and white versions #153 and #154, they look awesome
I'm sorry to say that and please don't misunderstand but LuckyKid's works based on my works and i've warned him by Private Message also i've sent many messages about that to all Moderator's. To work similar based on other designers works is against the rules of Logo Tournament. If any designer do that mistake we're going to Logo Court. Now, i'm waiting Lucky Kid and one of the other designer's answers first. If they not answer or withdraw their entries i will go to Logo Court.
tks ysonmez - thats cool ... i could tell they were similar and i felt sorry for you cause u did all the hard work in the first place :) i kinda felt bad putting that design first actually cause i could see it was just your stuff just refined a bit more - pls forgive me!!!! x
#191, #192, #193 appreciate you swapping the colours around, but i think they could jsut be swapped around for something different and more add confusion to the design then taking it up a lvl
#190 is a bit to dominant/ultra masculine ... it takes SKIN ENGINEER more into the cheaper realm, rather then the innovative niche premium brand i am going for.; this is very important - and im starting to have a second think about this when im looking at all of the designs you have done ... i am after a refined masculine, not a 'cheap' masculine ... i hope this makes sense.
#189 is good, is this similar to the one i had ranked *first* previously that was taken off due to copying? for some reason #189 doesnt quite draw me into it as much, im not sure if its because SKIN is all in orange, or if the height of the text was different?
is it possible to take #153 and compress it vertically a bit? ... like the height of the text in #191
tks for #197 and #199 ... i like how you have tried to take it up another level, im a bit concerned that because i will be using this logo on packaging that it may look like the ink has leaked or something (im sorry if that sounds ridiculous to you!) , is it possible to have another think - i really appreciate you are trying to step it up and make things different each time! look fwd to the nxt revision ... :)
hi - could you try somehow cutting the top off #189 (but so its still readable) ... ive just had a thought that because i want to run it vertically up the packaging, i could actually get a rectangular bottles and put the logo on the far left so its in line with the straight edge of the left hand side of the bottle. im not to sure how good it would work - but if u have a sec would be great to see - i think it wld be innovative and kool

my test market likes your design of #236 - but they made the following comments; * would like to see engineer written in non capital letters (just to see what it looks like) * think that there is a bit too much orange in #236, and would like just an orange k, instead of skin written completley in orange
#238 tested well too ... however most people were in agreement that they like the low profile looking font better ... i am having a final test coming up on the weekend so will have to see which design wins out of everyone!
for my benefit - could you pls take #236 and just make it black on white as well as white on black .... tks for these revisions - i appreciate it a lot.
hi ysonmez - i have been through the first testing (final round is tomorrow) - one of the comments was that there is too much orange in the design #236 ... , if you have a moment, could you please put a light grey skin engineer on a dark grey background in this design ... and include a more orange-y red (rather then a bright orange used in #236) ... i know this is being pretty finicky, but unfort im dealing with guys that have to be shown pictures and can not visualise things in their head, only if you have a moment ...
