The torch was interesting to the team here. Maybe we could see some variations of that concept including different color schemes (use of gray with red or gray with blue)?
I've come up with standalone icons that look good #29 is a prime example where the icon by its self has meaning, guiding light for the practices of institute.
Design #75 is another design that combines the icon into the name creating a word mark. the stylized letter S as a bird represents the freedom to take on challenges nationally and internationally...soaring to greater heights.
Designs #27 #28 #30 #35 #38 #37 #46 #47 really do not have that sense inspiration they look good but just boring. Which is why I always ask icons if they look static and have no meaning why have a generic
Design #100 #101 #102 #103 font change and revised the letter S
I've change out the font from Trajan Pro to Caslon Pro. the Trajan is not working for me in terms of look and feel and also seems odd when stacked. The updated typeface looks much better.
We really like where you are going with #74. Could you put together the following variations... -lines above and below the lettering like #105. -then a variation of that with the Aggie blue and copper. -then a variation of those with the ring around the flame like you had in #105
There are two more ideas that if you have time to pursue that I'd like to see. The first is taking the flame of #105 and filling out a torch on the bottom half. Torches are symbolic of higher-ed and awards. The second is #33. It is intriguing though I'm not sure where it should go. I know I want to stay away from any bird references, but the idea of a seal in that layout is intriguing. Don't worry about it though if you are busy on the mods above.
Don't give up on Trajan Pro yet. It looks really good in #74.
#128 if I do not upload this version of the torch someone else will. The reason for this is to protect design direction which is why you see so many variations of a designers' work. LT has is a built in system that allows designers to challenge others who may copy first ranked designs.
Can you make "Institute" a little more prominent. Don't loose the lines on either side, but strengthen the word a little bit (Bolder? Taller?, Bigger?)
sorry for this but I had to redo, I test all me work during the development phase and for some reason the objects where literally disappearing when opened as an EPS. I've had this problem earlier today was well with a client project. I am not a big fan of EPS but it is a required format for LT.
The newer versions are working fine converted to EPS
Hey Scott. For the sake of options, could you try a blue and gray color scheme for #146 and #155?
Also, I know that "Institute" is centered under "Shingo" - but it would be interesting to see it lined up with the Shingo lettering... maybe if the "I" were aligned with the "H" of Shingo? There's kind of an optical illusion going on as.
If you capitalize the "S" in Shingo, could the "I" of "institute" align with the left side of the "H" in "Shingo" and still keep the lines on both sides of "Institute?"
I need to change fonts to use upper and lower case I am using Trajan pro which is all caps but the lower case are wee bit smaller if I use title case with Trajan
Scott, I just had the executive team all in here to take a look at where we are. Can we see #155 with "Institute" fully justified underneath Shingo and the same blue color (remove the lines on the side). Then change the side flames to 1) light blue color and 2) gray.
Then, we'd like to see #29 with Shingo Institute all the same aggie blue color. Remove the disk from the flames, but keep the light blue on the upper portion of the flames and the dark blue for the bottom portion. Separate them by using the white space curvature that is already there.
revisions uploaded, I'd like to draw your attention to designs #224 #225
the word INSTITUTE using serif font for both Shingo and Institute to me it's the letter T's to many of them and coupled with letter I's it looks unbalanced in serif font
I switch to extended thin gothic (san serif) as an option
Great. Liking #226 and #227 - Now we need to see them with Shingo and Institute the same dark blue color. Not blue and gray. Also, I like the typography of #30 with the smaller Institute.
So, in summary, what we want to see are these variations: 1) #227 with dark blue "Shingo Institute" - smaller "Institute (typography of #30) - blue and light blue flame 2) #227 with dark blue "Shingo Institute" - smaller "Institute (typography of #30) - blue and gray flame 3) #227 with dark blue "Shingo Institute" - smaller "Institute (typography of #30) - blue and gold flame.
Take #234 - make the three parts of the flame, in this order from left to right, aggie blue, logan red then gold. Give a little more space between the flame and the typography and shrink the flame just a tad so that the top and bottom extend just slightly above and below the lettering.
#237 - The spacing between the three parts of the flame is currently slightly unequal, that may not be a bad thing, but we'd like to see one where the spacing is identical. It may be that we like that small imperfection more. But can we see that adjustment to compare?
Thank you for selecting my work, I have uploaded the required EPS and JPG. the system will auto generate 3 sizes.
I will be supply these additional file formats
1. hi res 300 dpi jpg cmyk 2. hi res 300 dpi jpg RGB 3. 3 no background PNG for web use 4. hi res black and white 300 dpi 5. favicon of the icon. favicon is the tiny 16x16px ico file used for website bookmarking 6. Illustrator file in cmyk and pantone
these file I will be sending by email to the address in the contract form unless you have an alternate address you wish me to use
If you have no further edit could you take a moment to approve the design in order for payment to be processed. In the meantime I will start preparing the additional file.
