#165 Thanks! Nice energy and colors. but I'm looking for stronger symbol and something more iconic. A strong symbol representing a shift, a change - from something old into something new. I have some more ideas in the comments for this competetions, if you like to explore alternatives

#198 Thanks for the new suggestion. Yes, this is more in line with what I'm looking for. Nice idea! Seeing this, If I changed the sub-text for the logo to "ideas evolved" or something like that, it would be very strong.

Feedback:
- foot is perhaps a bit too small
- to make the "animal" a bit more personal - possible to add an eye or something? Just an idea.
- improve curves of the head
- tighten up the font style a bit, or explore other font options
- not use capital letters for "new ideas"? See how "ideas evolved" would look?
- perhaps introduce another color to the animal - or perhaps some texture. #165 hade some nice patterns, perhaps possible to put something like that as a "skin"?
- I would not mind seeing how other layouts would look - like centered above or left aligned, or just the symbol without text (so that I better can see details - preview is small and low-res here on logotournament).

Good work! Creative :)

#221 I like it!
Some feedback:
- Overall feeling a bit too "friendly". Would like to have some lightly more attitude to it.
- Font is much better, but this one perhaps also a bit to "friendly".
- Not so fons of how the shadow looks - too strong edge.

Good work

#230 I think this logo will work very well as solid as well. Nice.

I like the eyes, but pehaps make them more visibile - i think they are a good help in understanding the shape.

the over all shape of the "animal" is very nice - beautiful balanced curves and proportions in this update.

I think most work is needed to get a nice and fresh 3D-feeling, good colors and gradients, and to update the text logo a bit further. It is much better than the first version, so it is a good evolution of the design!

#252 Font is better, less friendly and a bit more sci-fi. Not quite there yet though. Me and my collegues are growing very fond of this strong iconic shape! As in #230 the shape of it is.. perfect. unique, smart, simple. Very well done!

However, we are not sure about the color 3D version of it... Your latest update corrected some of the things I wasn't to fond of, but also introduced some new. It is more realistic with details of the body showing more - but that also made it less iconic.

Do you have any other suggestions how to approach this? If we just can solve the color version, and find a perfect text logo - I believe this is the strongest logo.

Also feel free to explore other colors if you think that would be a possible improvment.

Thanks for a superb logo!

...and if we are changing the text from "new ideas", "evolving ideas" is better than "ideas evolved".

Can you change to "evolving ideas"?

#267 it is better! More energy with these colors. Font is still a bit too common though, I would even say neutral. In that way the font in #252 was better, but a bit "hard". If you for example look at #93 by biink - that is an perfect example of a great text logo for me - which of course you can not copy - but something in that direction.

Perhaps your first instinct was better than mine regarding the eyes - perhaps it is cooler without?

There is something with the strong line of the light on the head (between the eyes) that feels a bit of. Perhaps it should be more curved close to the "nose" or something - so that it follows the roundness of the head a bit more.

If you win - are you okay with delivering .AI-files and a second text logo, a translation of "Shifters" into Swedish "Omskiftare"?

We can use fonts that other designers use. There's not a problem there.

You can have the ai files, absolutely.

I have shown you how Omskiftare displays in this font. Thought that might help.

I like it without the eyes. I LOVE these colors.

Oops -- I didn't really get to the highlight.... I will do it now.

I've been thinking about the highlight... What about using a standard web2.0 highlight used for spheres to emphasize the round shape? Example, the second puple badge:
http://www.dezinerfolio.com/2007/04/23/web-20-badges-free-download/
The highlight never reaches the shapes edge (like in the orange badge below the purple) an makes it feel more round.

I think the symbol is reaching the golden 100% - I'm very pleased about that. The text logo, for me, is still more like 70%. It feels - I don't know - just a bit too common. Perhaps is it that the logo got perfect balanced curves that makes the text look boring.

It was nice to see "omskiftare" text logo - it will work just fine with both texts.

#281 I think the highlight look the best in this one. Perhaps should the highlight be removed from the tail?

#267 #274 So far these are the best fonts, and the gradient in #267 is nice.
To try to show what kind of font I'm after, I looked through the on-line portfoolio here on logo tournament. Here are some examples:

Not sure if they all would work here, but I hope it will be some help for you. Thanks for the iterations of the design!

So far, it seems like your logo is the most popular. If you find a good font and do some small updates, I would say that this contest found its winner.

Once again, huge thanks for the updates! A bit of a drawback - getting the feedback that people like the shape, but its glossy surface makes them think about slime - like a slimy tadpole - and quite often a.. sperm with a leg.

I don't know exactly how to attack this problem, but I have two suggestions:
1) Make it less 3D and focus on use of gradients and lett the shape be more of a symbol. Also got some feedback from designers recommending to avoid the negative shape and look at options where the shape should point up, a smile, a rising shape.

2) Like the example of the fish in the link below - use stronger patterns to show that it a reptile, a dinosaur or just a fantasy animal. Perhaps add larger eyes or something (got one feedback on the old eyes "like the nose"). I don't have your skills as a designer, so I can not really say which is the best direction to go.

Sorry for asking for another update...

Also i tryed out a small modification of the text logo. It is a close copy of #93, I like this new style! In small size it was perhaps a litte to narrow - and I think by reducing height it looks a bit more futuristic.

Thanks again for the updates! This is very difficult - and I don't think we will be able to agree internally on the exact details just yet.

Would you be okay with sending all the variants of the logos with different fonts, layouts, colors etc as .AI files? We will then continue the work ourselves setting/selecting the details. I don't really feel comfortable asking you to continue doing these updates over and over again.

For final version I like to have #308 in green (everything the same but green) and also one version with the
Omskiftare text in the #308 text style.

If you are okay with this, I will end the contest now.

I can send you whichever entries you would like as .ai CS3. Is that ok?

Yes perfect. Easiest for me is if you send all the different variations you have...
