Thanks for the entries. #1 is definitely the best of the three. I prefer both the colours and the shape. However, a pile of books is probably unwise (though it looks good) as preaching is done from one book (the bible, not many).
With #2 the bible could be mistaken for a coffin, and I'm not sure about the triangles (though there could possibly be potential there for some graphics that looked like a 'play' button.
With #3 I just don't like the dove. It's a religious symbol, but has little to do with either sermons or preaching.
If images are used, they need to portray the bible or speaking or listening. However, none of these entries conveys the concept of listening.
I like the idea of "sound waves" in #6 and #7 though I think #7 would be better without the black "waves", which look slightly bird-like.
#4 and #5 are better than two, but I think the hearing/listening concept is definitely better still.
I'm not sure about colour. I've never felt blue and yellow go particularly well together, #1 is still first. I don't feel particularly strongly that the logo HAS to be blue, though the advantages of blue are (1) I'm using it already, (2) No-one else in this market is.
If you want to try additional imagery, a pulpit is a possibility, though I don't suspect this would not work as well as a bible.
#17 - I wonder if the red could be slightly brighter.
#2 - I still like this one, despite the collection of books. I think it's partly the perspective I like. Perhaps the pile of books could be changed to a pulpit?
#16 #18 and #15 - Again, these are all good, but compared to some of your other designs they look a bit flat.
I did like the 'play button' in #2 so if that could be included in some of the other designs, without making it too busy, then that would be good to see. Other possible devices for signifying listening would be headphones, or an mp3 player.
Mogeek: Would you be willing to try out a design that incorporated a pulpit? Perhaps similar to #17 or #1, but with the bible being a pulpit instead. It'd also be interested to see what you could do with headphones or an iPod. Thanks.
Hmm, I really like #81 - this is turning into a tough selection. I'm certainly going to shortlist it. If you can improve it still further that would be even better. Thanks!
