#1 has some interesting elements to it, i.e., looks "electronic", like a ckt board. The font is too harsh, however.

To all designers: note that electrical engineering does not necessary mean circuit diagrams (perhaps I should have made that comment to begin with). While circuits is an element of what we do, I think the inclusion of it in the logo will limit its applicability to that arena (i.e., circuit design), which is not our intent. Other elements that might be included are an arc (e.g., lightning bolt shape) or an electromagnetic (EM) wave.
