This can also be larger and spill behind the S,??? Just a thought, maybe, maybe notThe coaching font is clean, maybe it can be used for the Secure, but probably not for coaching.I'd like to see more/different fontsThank you! 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Thanks for the feeback. I have a bunch of ideas I want to submit for you, so feel free to eliminate the ones not working for you. I'll make changes based on your suggestions.(This comment references Entry #13) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer #13 and #14 also serves as a compass too. 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer added your orange back in.(This comment references Entry #15) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer something like this? based on your feedback in the main comment section.(This comment references Entry #16) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Here's a script font example. Go ahead and start eliminating the ones you know are not on the mark. You'll be able to see them by clicking on any of my entries which will bring you to this page.(This comment references Entry #18) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer This is just a reference for the black and white version that can be printed or embroidered as small as 2 inches. It's based on the latest mark. #15 is a good reference for it. It's purposefully small.(This comment references Entry #22) 15 years ago charlesjseaman Client # 20 is great - the font is engaging, but the font for "coaching" is easier to read than # 19. Also #13 is great, but the font for "coaching" looks like the same font for Coach handbags, which is a bit distracting. However, the image and both color schemes are great. Personally, I like having the anchor be, well - "anchored" on the lower portion of the company name, rather than above it. makes more sense visually, as well, as you look left first at the logo, and then your eye moves right as it reads. I really like # 13 and #20 (#20 being very visually engaging, with the pop of gold)...I'm thinking this will translate well to embroidery, etc. Charles - I was thinking about the use of orange in the logo - do you think it would be too Coast Guard-y? Just a thought. I think #20 is damn near perfect. Nice job. Just my 2 cents.- Kelley 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Thank you very much.I did stray away from the darker/brighter orange because you seemed to be describing a washed out, 'old world' color style in your brief. And you're right about the Coast Guard thing too. What do you think about "Anchored Guidance" as a tagline? It's just two words that illustrate the compass and the anchor. Or maybe "Grounded Guidance"?Thanks for the great feedback Charles!Erik 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer BTW, on #22The mark might appear to be a little rough or jaggy due to the sites compression of images, but I assure you all the lines are very clean and will scale nicely up or down based on your needs. It's actually a pleasant little mark and should be really versatile in terms of usage. I could see this being used all over a website in terms of buttons or layout elements. It's perfect for a Favico inside the location bar of a browser. Printed on marketing and promotional materials... I'm sure you get the idea. 15 years ago charlesjseaman Client I like the tagline "Grounded Guidance" - Charles, what do you think? (BTW - this is Kelley - Charles' partner in crime) #22 works fine for more simple branding (where B&W only is needed, or on smaller embroidery, etc.) Will there be any issue with trademarking this logo, or have you used it elsewhere?I think the color really gives it dimention, though. On my favorite (#20) - is this a 2-color or a 4-color image? I'm trying to think of which would be easier to print on letterhead, etc. Best,Kelley 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Hi Kelly,There shouldn't be any trouble with trademarking, I drew the anchor part yesterday based on your brief without anything else for reference and the compass part a few weeks ago, but they weren't used for anyone else's logo. #20 has has a light tan and a yellowish orange gradient, along with 2 other colors, so technically it's a full color design. I could cut it down to solid colors, but considering the cost of full color printing today I don't really see an issue. I could recommend the printer I use and I have a few ideas and tricks that apply to the printing process that I could assist you with after the contest. I hope that answers your printing questions. As far as embroidery, I would consider giving them a 5 or 6 color design since you like the dimension of the full color version. Those guys are all digital now and the costs of and the costs of using several colors are negligible. Where you do end up paying big money is when they have to spend alot of time doing color separation in order to digitize their stitch paths. This won't be a problem here as my sources, by their nature of being vector, are already seperated for the most part. Thanks for the nice comments!Erik 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Also, think of #22 as just a bare bones option. For instance if you wanted to purchase a self-inking stamp or had to send something through a black and white laser printer at home. Other options are metallic foil stickers or seals. It also could be the basis of a pretty nice watermark. I'll upload an example of that for you in a sec. 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer This one just has a different tagline.(This comment references Entry #23) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Just a watermark example(This comment references Entry #24) 15 years ago charlesjseaman Client Love. The. Watermark. ...could we see what it looks like on # 23? I imagine this would be just for business cards and possibly the header box on the Web site, just as an extra special "dimension". Curious to hear what Charles thinks...especially about the tagline. I'm not sure how this site works, in terms of whether each contest is for one overall brand/ID, or simply one logo/element at a time...but we were thinking about including some sort of very, very subtle (maybe grey or blue watermarked) reference to the lat / long of Charles' office, right underneath the business contact info on the cards (phone, URL, email...and a faded latitude / longitude)...this may be totally cheesy and overkill, though. What are your thoughts? I don't think we need to see it designed, as it is not part of the logo - I'm just curious to get a designer's perspective on whether this would be overkill on the themeThanks,Kelley 15 years ago charlesjseaman Client BTW - we're totally getting somewhere. Nice work - it's really come together today. 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Actually, I uploaded the watermark the way I did because technically, backgrounds and background graphics aren't allowed here on the site. They want to keep things consistant. A mod will probably come in and remove it anyway. I just uploaded it so you'd get an idea of what I meant. It's part of the overall logo design I submitted, so it's one of those things for after a contest is over. You are right, the contests here are just for logos or some type of branding mark. I would classify your Lat/Long idea more on the layout and design aspect, which comes after you choose a logo. I think it's a great idea btw. It's a subtle way to include some deeper meaning. You guys wouldn't happen to be LOST fans would ya? :)I'm glad you're happy with the work so far. I wish this contest was closing today :) 15 years ago charlesjseaman Client So, I'm going to jump ahead and just do some due diligence here - let's say, for conversation's sake, that one does decide to go wtih your logo design. They pay the fee on LT, and then what happens? If, say, we'd like to incorporate extra elements like the watermark...do you have some sort of a fee schedule or hourly rate? Maybe Charles already covered this with you (and I can't speak for him - I have no idea which way he is leaning). Just asking while the question comes to mind...Thanks!- Kelley 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer When you declare a winner, they upload their source files for the winning entry and after you receive them, copyright is turned over to you and the winning designer is paid the prize money, less LT's 15% agency commission. After that, you're free to contract with the designer for additional work, which is a good idea for things like the business cards and stationary. Most of the designers here are really competing for new clients, not just the one shot logo wins. It works out nice for everybody and is encouraged. I'd be happy to work with you after if I win this contest You'll find my rates very reasonable and I bring a lot to the table in terms of the areas your looking to cover. 15 years ago charlesjseaman Client Great. Thank you. That is good to know. - Kelley 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer lol. you ranked the watermark first. 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Ok. This is the #20 or #23 version that you like, with the dots made about 50% smaller. I think it make a big difference.(This comment references Entry #26) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Here's one with the 'coach' font.(This comment references Entry #27) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer This one is similar to the 'coach' font, but with a slightly taller character set.(This comment references Entry #28) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer This one has a heavier font weight. I think it looks pretty good. It's a simpler line style which is more of a contrast from the DARE logo you mentioned. The DARE logo by the way is a very awful script font that rises from left to right. This looks alot different, well actually they all are pretty different. From here I'll start to change the orange color scheme you also mentioned.(This comment references Entry #29) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer This is just for a color reference and feedback. If it's dark enough tell me and I'll combine it with the font version you favor.(This comment references Entry #30) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer So how is this for all the updates you asked for? I orange color darker, the font changes.... left out the tagline.(This comment references Entry #44) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Here's a few more font ideas based on your latest feedback.(This comment references Entry #45) 15 years ago Erik Logo Designer Ok. You can use the font for both words and have "secure" in grey and "coaching" in blue.THANK YOU , WE'RE SOOOOOOO CLOSE!
