I think this design is a bit risky - but I thought I'd put it up for you consideration anyway. I put on the JC Superstar album and this is what I ended up with. But sometimes you've got to get a little crazy to come up with something truly unique.
Significantly different art direction than previous submissions. I'm using a contemporary stained glass window to convey "sanctuary" and trying to stay away from over-used religious iconography.
I like the forward shadow on this, but I think the stained glass window looks too traditional. Also, I'm not a fan of serif fonts like this that have a thick side and a very thin side.
I put audio clips of the music from the musical online last night. Did you get a chance to listen to them?
Here's another version using a more contemporary font and a simplified image of Jesus (in the Christ the Redeemer Rio pose) I did take the opportunity to listen to a few tracks while working on this. Your music is more mellow and in a different perspective than JC Superstar (I was expecting the same sort of rock opera) However I wasn't able to look at the images that you posted - the link comes up empty.
