Really like your work! Question we had.............is our tagline too small?? Let us know or try another layout after thinking about it. Also, would #74's logo be limiting as it is in a green block, which by the way I really like the rich deep green you have choosen for #74, but worried about being tied into a logo that has to have the green background. How would that translate for letterhead as an example?? LOVE your graphics and color choices on #73 but again.....is the tagline too small??

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. Glad you're pleased.

the tagline is not really small... well, I'll just increase its size a bit if you want or give you some font options.

Thanks again.

#74 is just a representation if rendered in single color/ B&W and in reversed.

posted some variations. please let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Please take the comma out between Group and inc so we can see graphically what that does to the composition. Your design is so clean-lined, which I like, that I feel the comma is distracting??? Could you also show us an example of it in black and white? Thanks.

#141 made be really happy when I first saw it earlier today on my iPhone. The brighter colors were exciting and fun. When I got home to my computer tonight I compared #141 to #98 I felt #98 has a higher end class appeal and looks more professional. My concern about your design, yet it is the thing I love about your design, is the curved line across RUE. Tomorrow I am going to show it to people who don't know my name or our company's name and ask them what it says. If they don't say "Rue" or "R U E" then I will know that I am risking having another logo that doesn't clearly convey the name of our company. I don't want to loose that artistic value of your design but it is a worry.

yes, agree #98 has the "professional" feel colorwise.

I'll submit some font variations as your options later. Thanks!

I thought of tweaking the kerning a bit #155 and #156, an option with a bolder font - but I fear it might lean towards to a "masculine" feel of the logo.

Please let me know what you think. Thank you!

#166 #167 #168 - added some leaf element.

It will stand out even in single color / B&W or for fax/ photocopy. :)

Really like the font in #166 but interested in seeing what it would do to the look to have all of the letters touch or none of them touch in "RUE". Also would like to see our tagline in black vs the grey. Thank you.

Just want to compliment you on how #166 is professional yet has a personality that makes it interesting, creative, and unique. Exactly what we want to convey. I'm so glad you had the extra time to create this version for us! Thank you. Confirmed this logo was readable as "RUE" today with two people who didn't know our name.

The colors in #141 still make me the happiest but I also love the rich dark, yet bright tones of #166.

Thanks for the kind words... and I'm glad that the design is effective and had a positive result.

Here are the revisions #173 #174 and #175 - played with the bright colors, I'm afraid it looks too playful though.

Thanks again!

What if all the RUE letters connected only at the top? Is it an optical illustion or is the R a bit lower than the U and the E? Which of all of your designs for our logo do you like the best?

Client
After carefully studying your new submissions with the one we have ranked #1 we like how #174 connects all three RUE letters, though still interested in seeing if it works any better only connecting at the top, and we like the tagline in black vs the grey. Could we please see #174 in black and white. Thank you.

Logo Designer
yes, it's just an illusion. I've checked that as well. :D

The connection of R-U-E at the top looked odd when I tried it... specially the R-U connection that's why I ended up posting entry #174. I'll post a sample shortly.

I like #166 then #155 - (kerning, well balance and layed-out compare to #98, because I see a white space between U and E. I also think entry #167 has an advantage colorwise - the blue and green combination is still applicable. Overall, I pick #166.

We are in the final days of making our decision on who's logo will win our contest. You may have noticed that you have been ranked #1 for quite some time now but I just read the question/answer section of this website and they said I need to ask for any revisions, etc. during the contest or the judging portions so I wanted to ask you the following so we have all we need before making a final decision:

The overwhelming response I have been getting from key clients who I asked to rank my favorites is summed up in the following comments that I want to share with you:

1. "color you select can say a lot about the presence or absence of creativity and innovation."
My question........which color scheme, of all the one's you developed, to you shows creativity and innovation or are there other colors, or color, we should explore? Please know we are most drawn to your leaf in the u design vs the slash through rue. Since we like the leaf design best do you feel it represents all that we want it to best in the green version we have ranked as #1? Please re-read our contest brief and show us any other versions you want to.

2. "the logo needs to tell the story in the tagline." My question...........though we generally feel the leaf logo tells a story by it's artistic and creative usage in the u, is there a way to have the tagline be noticed more without destroying the balance of your design? If so, please show us any other versions you want to.

3. "the subtle leaf inside the "u" is perfect as are the 3 shades of green, the symmetry of #174's logo.."
My question.........we feel the same as this comment but we are concerned with the letter font/spacing issues you continued to work on throughout the contest. We are having trouble deciding on which version would be best.....connected, not connected, where should it connect, do we have the right font, would another font work better, etc. Could you please submit the leaf design in any other fonts you feel could work better and since I am a woman owner and landscape architect perhaps something a bit softer and feminine?

4. "none of the logos are truly representative of the cutting edge design, expertise, and traditional sensibilities found at Rue Group." (she made this comment on 12/15/10 before your leaf in the u version by the way. this client never went back to the site to see that version though I encouraged her to) My question......after reading her comments or anyone else's comments I have listed, is there any other changes you think we should consider to the leaf in the u design before making our final choice?

I hope that I have understood the contest rules correctly and nothing I have asked of you is not allowed at this point. Please let me know. I know it is a very busy time of the year so I appreciate any time you can give us at this point. Thank you.

Hi, Yes... you're doing the right thing.

I've submitted some revisions as requested. #215 #216 #217 #218 and B&Ws #219 #220

1. I feel the green (bright to dark hue) is probably the best choice for this... other than innovation, it symbolizes growth, wealth as well. Nevertheless, while colors make your logo beautiful, outstanding, pleasing to the eye, etc... but for me, in my own opinion you can say the logo is effective even if it's rendered in B&W.

2. I've tried an italic version of the tagline and highlighted the word "Innovation" for an option. Please let me know your thoughts about it.

3. Posted some new font variations for your perusal... I've tried less "stiff" / feminine types of font. If you have a specific font in mind, just let me know maybe we could try that one.

4. Honestly, based on your brief description... I envisioned it as it should be a clear, readable logotype, I don't want any additional clutter on your logo specially that your market is in the higher end bracket. It should be sophisticated, neat and professional.

Thank you

Thank you for your new ideas. Your new submittals only prove to us how perfect your original design idea was. I really don't care for any of the new fonts and I think the line under Innovative takes away from the balance of your overall logo design and the italic version of the tagline just doesn't fit with the classic lines of the rest of the logo.

My husband keeps asking me to ask you to enlarge the font size of the tagline in #174 to see what that looks like. Please keep in mind when you do this the balance of everything else and adjust Rue or Group Inc accordingly. The only other thing I can think of is using the same bright to dark hue of green in the tagline somehow but again until we see that I won't know if that also would take away from the purity of your original design.

Give that some thought and let's see what you come up with and that will be all for now. Thank you.

Merry Christmas Eve!! If you are available for one final adjustment could you please see about reducing the spacing between each letter of "Group Inc." on versions #232, 233, and 234. That is our last concern. Our last questions are:
1. Do you feel INC should have the period after it? If it doesn't need to have it and leaving the period off would help your spacing, and the simplicity of the design, then show us one without the period.
2. Why does #234 seem to pop crisper and brighter than # 233? Are they both the same font, colors, sizes, etc.
3. Which of the three, #234, #233 #232, do you feel pops our tagline best?
4. Do #233 and #243 have the same size tagline as #232? It is hard for us to tell.
4. If you don't have time to get back to us today with any final changes and we select one of your versions as the winner can we still work with you after Christmas on any final adjustments before you download the artwork?

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi,

1. Yes, I think INC should have a period after it. - I'll show you the 2 samples later. :)
2. The GROUP INC. of #234 is in black while #233 is in dark green but font, size are all the same.
3. Personally, I think #233 - colored tagline pops out very well... I like the simplicity of the solid black though.
4. Yes, same font size. :)
5. Yes, of course. Definitely. You'll get the revisions later soon.

Gotta go, my kid keeps on calling me. hahaha!

Thank you and Merry Christmas!!!
