Hi Eximius, two quick thoughts, if you're interested.

1) Would love to see this reworked slightly as a carrot in place of the current roots, but the top still basically the same as it is.

2) I have always loved old cowboy/ranch style cattle brand lettering and I had long considered using a rocking r (an r w/ an upward facing arc below it, kind of like an r sitting on a rocking chair base). Wonder if you'd have any ideas for using rocking r?

Thank you for you feedback. I submitted #226, #227, #228 for you. Please note, that colors could be changed easily to match your taste. The main thing is a concept itself. Technically, you should appreciate designs in black/white. Please take a look on #212 as well. Thank you.

Hi Eximius, thanks so much for submitting some designs for our contest! I had a chance to go over many of the submitted logos w/ some colleagues yesterday and this particular one was a crowd pleaser because it played on both the roots and also a sprouting theme that will run through all of our products. Folks like to colors, font/text and the overall structure. In general, we have all preferred designs like this one where the image and font/text were separated. Your designs were all very creative and while several of the ones where you played the image off of the 'o' in Roots likely won't be the direction we want to go, people uniformly appreciated the creativity of your designs!
We'll be getting together again hopefully early next week to narrow down to finalists. I think one thing that would be really helpful, if you wish for a request, is to see a negative/inverse image of this particular design, much like you did w/ the others for roots w/ the plant image on the 'o.'
