What We Do
I provide group therapy for adults and adolescents with extreme emotions. I bring people together in small group settings to understand extreme emotions, behave with self-respect, consider various perspectives, and make wise decisions.

Color Preferences
I really don't know! In my office I tend to have neutral colors, green and brown. I don't know that brown would be the best for a logo. Various shades of green, perhaps (I have to redo my website and need new colors), or an earthy feel with green and brown enhancements. I would consider green and blue but a darker blue. I also tend to gravitate towards purple, so green and purple might be an option. My website is currently www.reneehoekstra.com. I think my current picture is too "cartoony" and I want something more elegant and upscale to have less "playful" appeal and be more in tuned with a larger and more mature audience. The green used below would need to be darker, it has too much yellow in it.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I'm a bit at a loss. One way would be to use my name or initials, but I'm not sure that is too "simple." I would love the idea of conveying the power of working together in a group, but I don't know if that could be done in a way that isn't overly complex. Sometimes certain fonts are aesthetically pleasing to me, but perhaps are too congested if there is too much wording.

Discussion

The ones by Agus look too much like a tax accountant firm. Too formal. It makes me think of H and R Block. I do not care for the orange.

I like the color scheme of the gray and dark green better, but still not in love with the designs.

I don't care for the big circle above my name. Design wise, I feel it needs to be simpler, more subtle, and somehow better integrated. I don't think I want the design to overshadow or compete with my name, either.

So far, I like the elegance and somewhat simple feel of having a small logo or picture, and the colors of dark green and gray. I haven't cared for the ones with a big picture above my name. I appreciate how people are trying to incorporate the group theme, but sometimes the pictures end up looking like clocks, wheels, wreaths; even a cluster of small eggs, etc. and the concept and unique form of the design seems lost. The prototypical "circle" doesn't appeal, I want my design to have some uniqueness.
