Color Preferences
Black and white is our initial thought. We're willing to look at accent colors but they need to be simple and bold.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Focus on "Rank and File" rather than "Rank and File Media" when developing logo. We encourage a variety of logo ideas but some initial thought was a simple LOWERCASE "r & f" or "r + f" logo in serif font. NOTE: New details will always be in the comments section at the bottom of the page!

Update 5/11/09

Artists please try and be a little creative with your lettering if you're going to turn in a standard "R & F" logo. We're starting to see a lot of these and we're looking for something with an artistic touch. While our first idea was the "R & F", we're interested in seeing if some logo-friendly imagery and designs would work for us, even if they are a little abstract (examples: animal /family crest/ abstract design ).

Also, for those who believe they can create a great "R & F" logo, please consider the use of lower case letters or the + instead of the &.

As always, thank you for your wonderful submissions so far! Looking forward to seeing what else you can do.

Cheers,
B

I'd like to see a few more ideas like #43 that include images of a marching or lined-up military unit (soldiers line up by rank and then march in file).

What do you mean ' We encourage...in serif font' ?'
I think you should talk to bugy about 'work out final details' to appreciate her/his work (designs).
Now, (not really) everybody try to copy her/his idea. I just objection.

Thanks for this competition.

Thanks to everyone who entered this contest!

M-Yoda, moved your design up to #2 because you were the second designer we would have chose. Sorry about the sarif font thing, but we chose to go a different direction after seeing bugy's designs. As for the rest of these designs, I am seeing a lot of similarity to #170. hmmmmm

Hey everyone, this was a post I read on another competition that I feel relates to this one in particular. The idea of it is to not have the same designer in all of the top spots. Try to spread the wealth around and give others credit for their work.

Happy designing! :)

How are you doing ? hope you are doing great. As this contest is about to come to an end, and you will be chosing the best new logo for your company, i just wanted to have your attention to some important point that you might be aware of or might not. I hope i am not miss understood by pointing out this to you and that you understand.

When the contest ends and you have made your mind and desicion about the winner logo, the winner gets the 1st place, but the 2nd and 3rd place and going on forward, 4th, 5th, 6th , etc , each one or slot should be filled with a seperate designer and different concept you found second best, third best to follow etc.

This helps towards us designers ranking and also it is a way from you to show your appreciation to the hard effort and trails put from the beginning by one designer or appreciating a nice design concept put earlier by a designer that led to developing on right direction for others and you getting the best you could at the end.

It feels frasturating for other designers and pointless of giving all the top rankings for same winner designer, while those were just a small variations of the winning design and therefore the other places 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc are not filled with different designs from a different designer.

So i hope you understood my point i was just trying to point out to you here and all the best of luck in chosing your winner logo, there are really good ones out there.

please take a moment to rank your contest in fair and just manner..it will go along way when you decide to start another....simply because more designers will participate if they know a contest will be judged fairly.

Best Regards,
