Hi There, thanks for submitting We like this concept, especially the simple representation of water the swish.
We would like to see a version without birds, and instead of the bushy trees, a profile of pine trees; also consider adding a mountain and/or something to represent a mountain
Great revision! Yes, we like #89 / #90 much better. We really like the revision on the water element, like the trees. The mountains are ok, and we'd like to see some different variations, more linear perhaps.
Can we go to a solid color or 2/color rather than textured? We're trying to produce a logo that is good in pure b/w and emboss /deboss.
Really like where this is heading, only a few changes please: a. We really like the tree sticking out and the water sticking out in #90. Can we get those without altering the size/ratio of #125. Even as elegant and emblematic as it is, yours is the only one that has the elements coming out and we think that makes it unique like that.
b. Since that give you a bit more space, can we widen the stroke on the font in #125. It looks a bit squished.
c. Instead of more trees (we like the two trees as in #90) can we put a cabin where you currently have three smaller trees in #125. Same idea on the solid/ vs alternating white space, but instead of solid blue trees, maybe a cabin with a small plue of smoke from chimney (thin narrow not too many curves, maybe single 'S' pattern-ish).
Hope that helps and thanks for your great ideas Faith.
Great, thanks Faith. two more updates: One of my managers noted that the mountains 'look like sails' I didnt think so, but maybe we can see one version with slightly different non-saill-like (lol) shapes. just one so we can say yay or nay.
Second update, color: though we will finalize colors in the next phase, let's get this revision to help us visualize and decide on the top 5. Let's do two color again as in #90 placement of color. Can we get a medium blue (darker version of the slate/blue you have now is good, and a pine /forest green).
#139 I flipped the house, changed up the mountains a bit (hopefully enough not to look like sails :), darkened the blue and changed the green to more of a forest green, and finally make the smoke a bit thicker and changed the angle. Please let me know if you like this new version or want to see any other changes?
for this final round, we are asking artists to put their designs into various emblem shapes. Your is already in a rectangle, but we'd love to see a hexagon or circle (we prefer hexagon if it works). The shape should encapsulate most or all your elements in your top ranked design, including the text. Feel free to change the font around. we're leaning towards clean sans serif or low serif flowing modern font. We will finalize fonts and colors in next round.
Hi Faith Thanks for your submission and new design #164. We like the new font. We also like that you chose to provide an original emblem shape rather then the basic ones we suggested. However, this shape doesn't seem to allow you to represent all your elements we liked in #145 or #136. Moreover, too much emphasis on the words.
Can you try for a hexagon shape as in the attachment to the brief ('Glacier'). We like the nostalgic feel these evoke. Also, don't forget to keep your tree sticking out of the hexagon (or other geometric) shape, as it's one of your unique design elements that we like. You can also take liberties with the water element sticking out (or use it for the reverse text like the brief attachment?)
Wonderful re-interpretation of your original design into the hexagon emblem!
Can we see a version with the text 'Quiet Creek' is inside the hexagon on the left (the Quiet part). It can stick out on the right side (maybe more balanced?).
Hi Faith, a few more comments /feedback after discussing with my co-manager. In addition to the version above, can we see one more version of #174 where the text is on the bottom portion? In other words, move the images up to the top part of the hexagon, and place the text below the creek/water element.
Fonts in #176 and #177 are what we asked for, but maybe now too extremely narrow because of the limited shape. Come to think of it, now that the top portion is a defined hexagon, we think the viewer would get it even if the text sticks out on the bottom versions #177 and #176.
Let's see if we can minimize the "squished together" for the text. Can we see a few versions of #177 with text in various sizes and levels of 'sticking out'. We like that it's outlined when it sticks out too.
I realize I'll have to juggle first place for uploads, and once current #1 is done, I'll put you in first so you can upload what is (hopefully!!) the last revision before we judge.
It will be close / tough, but judging should go quickly.
Hi Faith, In addition to feedback above, 12/28 12:35p est, can we see the following revision to the mountain range in your #177?
I provided another designer the following image (see URL and pasted text from other public discussion below). We like the emblem but are thinking the addition of more modern/angular mountains would balance the old / rustic and new. Here's that info:
==begin paste=== December 27th, 2013, 8:43pm Thanks. Here's the best example we can find (thank you google images, or not, lol).
On this graphic/stock vector, the best examples are the last two in the series (on the bottom row rightmost two). For the bottom rightmost graphic image, please only consider only the rightmost two mountain peaks (ignore the first one from left to right).
Hope that helps more than hinders. ===== end paste.
Almost forgot, we'd like to see minimal shading on the mountains (more white) so this should also free up some space for that smoke to be 'pulled' up a bit to form a narrow 'S' vertically rather than bending.
Thank you so much for all your input and suggestions. I appreciate your involvement in the process of creating your logo. Unfortunately redoing the mountain range would involve quite a bit of work and as there can only be one winner, there is no guarantee that I will receive any compensation for the time I put in.
I completely understand that you want to see the final versions of all your top designs before choosing a winner, but I am more than willing to work with you after you have chosen a winner, should it be me, before any money changes hands to get you a final version that you will be thrilled with.
Hi Faith. Sorry to keep you guys waiting but this was a difficult decision. Congrats!
May we see the revisions we discussed on 12/28. Our staff has commented that the points on the mountains and tree should be sharp and the lines fairly angular / linear to contrast the fluid design of the emblem and water / smoke.
For colors, as we finalize, we should choose PMS colors that can easily be reproduced CMYK, and have 'nearby' RGB equivalents. For green, something akin to PMS 626, For the blue, we like your selection on screen so as close as we can get to it in PMS. We'd like the files coded for PMS colors when completed. Hope that helps.
Waiting anxiously to see the updates and finalize the logos.
Sure thing :) I will work on the changes tomorrow and get them over to you asap. I will send them directly to your email as the contest is now closed. If there is another email other than the one listed on the contract you would prefer to use, please let me know. You can private message me as the comments here are now public in order to keep your email undisclosed.
Have a nice evening and thank you again for choosing my design!
