What We Do
Prayable Art is a line of hand-crafted jewelry and prayer beads (primarily Catholic and Anglican rosaries and custom-designed prayer bracelets), made of 'clean' gems and pearls, fairly-traded silver and gold, and Swarovsky crystal -- all made with love and a prayer.

Color Preferences
PERIWINKLE and close-by colors on the wheel -- blue through purple. hydrangeas are important to my aesthetic (though NOT needed in the design).

Also GREEN, especially sagey/olive-leaf greens --kind of a blue/silver undertone.

BUT there are no colors I would object to if integral and relevant to the design... you may, in your expertise, go with a different type than one i've checked off.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Please see www.PrayableArt.com for a sense of the brand so far -- and when you see the banner at the top, you'll immediately see why I need a proper logo! The more time you spend there, the more you'll get a sense of what I am looking for.

COMMENTS about style sliders: the designs are contemporary in feel, but classic in that they are timeless. The price point puts them in the luxury category for what they are, but for the target customer, they are necessities. Adventure/ secure does not apply.

Hi, Designers!

I'm so excited to work with you on concepts for my Prayable Art jewelry and prayer beads. (I feel like Tim Gunn in the opening scenes of Project Runway!)

This is my first time with Logo Tournament, and I'll be giving you feedback as we go along -- and I hope you will do the same so that I'll end up with a great logo, you'll end up with a check and a nice addition to your portfolio, and we'll both have fun in the process.

If you have ANY questions along the way, please let me know so we can work together.

Ciao and have fun!

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

I'm editing my earlier comments (removing out-of-date comments and repetition) to streamline things for you...

THE FONT:
I'd like to see the letters themselves become a stronger design element, so the typeface itself becomes unique. Two examples from the the samples that LT provides.

1.) In Dell Computers -- the 'e' in "Dell" is manipulated so it's not just plain type.
2.) In FedEx, the 'd' and 'E' are created as if they are one character. This makes it very distinctive.

I'd like to see Prayable Art rendered in such a way that the typeface itself has a unique graphic element to it. Maybe that means modifying the letters in some way, changing pieces of the font, etc. -- use your design genius!

I've been thinking about the use or non use of the cross in the Prayable Art logo, and I'm still undecided. I like what I am seeing both with and without the cross...

it gets me to thinking about other symbols that convey elements of prayer such as peace, healing, hope, etc. ...such as a peace dove, a scallop shell (nice bc of my connection to Cape Cod and the beach, also a symbol of Christian baptism), butterfly (archetype for transformation into new life across many cultures).

something to consider as you move ahead with your designs. i REALLY like what is emerging in this process!

RANKING.

Hello, Amazing Designers.

I just learned about the importance of ranking!!! At first, I was choosing just ONE design by each of you to rank, for simplicity's sake. I didn't realize that you get points for ALL ranked entries. And I want you to be recognized for the great effort and time you are taking!

Ranking them by number is really tough – for me, I think of it more like groups like ‘top tier,’ ‘really good,’ ‘I like it but would like changes,’ and ‘nice effort.’ So don’t sweat the actual number. Please DON'T take NI if you get one -- I'll tell you why I'm not interested, and hopefully that will inform your next designs.

I notice I am drawn to clean lines and simple designs like the art in #18; I also like art that has a hand-drawn quality to it, such as in #27. And I love what I'm beginning to see as designers play with the typeface, such as in #30, 31, and 35.

Hi, Designers!

I am just LOVING what you all are doing! I like the playfulness I see in #51 and #52. I like the manipulation of typeface such as in #38 and #46.

I am extending the contest by three days (so it will close on Monday evening, eastern time). I think what you are sending me is just getting better and better-- and I think a bit of extra time is a good idea.

Good day, Designers!

I posted earlier I'd like some designs that include a scallop shell: it's a symbol of Christianity, but it's also universal - it implies nature and the beach too... maybe consider some beads in, or cascading out of the shell.

I've attached, in the brief, a photo that includes a scallop shell in the lower left (under the cross) just so you can see what one looks like, in case you don't already know. (Ignore the cross, that was just a product styling shot.)

thanks again!

Hi, Designers!

All I can say is WOW! You are really doing some amazing and beautiful work. I know I said it earlier, but the designs just keep getting better and better, and I am more humbled and honored as each one comes in. What a privilege to work with each of you!

I want to make a note about ranking-- I know I have to 'officially' rank them for your points, and I will spend more time on that to be as fair as I know how with the ranking and points you all earn. But for now, please know that really, the top few are all #1 in my book, but the LT system does not allow for placing 'tie' votes. So basically I'm saying that in my mind, #1 and #2 are both equally appealing to me, as are #3 and #4 and so on for the first few.

It's just a few hours before the close, so if you have any last-minute questions or anything I can do to help you, let me know - I'll be checking in more frequently till the entries close.

peace & fun!

Hello, Designers!

This has been an absolutely incredible process for me to work with so many of you. I am honored and humbled by your participation, and the beauty and variety of your designs. It made it difficult to choose (a very nice problem to have).

In the end, that the design I chose is a good match for Prayable Art: it captures a certain something that I'm very drawn to. in truth, there are a number of designs that also would have been fitting and lovely.

I'm so glad that you participated. THANK YOU for your time and talent. I enjoyed working with all of you.

All the best-
