What We Do
Popei operates in France and delivers corporate software and services (dashboards, best-practices, CV database) to help Human Resources staff comply with affirmative action rules within organizations (disabled people, senior staff, multicultural staff...). "POPEI" sounds in French like Popeye (the sailor), a character whose early pictures turned into royalty-free in 2009 in Europe. "Pop Eye" is by the way a disabled person, whose strength comes from a tin box of spinach, and 'tin box' is 'boîte' - which means "company, business" . That's why "Une boîte ouverte, une équipe renforcée" both can translated to "Open a tin, stronger team" or "Open up your business, get a stronger team". As a conclusion, though we deliver not so funny business; we would like to use something "offbeat".

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points
10th on - 1 point

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Hi all

I posted individual comments until now but nothing in this section so far. Let's try a synthesis.
I'm sharing this process with our 7-people staff and here are few things I can say after listening to their opinion.

- #20 is currently ranked 1st because we have a bold/easily readable font, and most, a very understable concept a people jumping out of the box, sounding like enthusiasm, and human capital. Maybe it's a little overloaded, and maybe it would be nice to get the pictural elemement beside the name of the company, and not below it.

- #4 and #14 look very readable, punchy, professional. In the end, it may be a litlle too classical in the software industry, looking a bit like Microsoft logo. But the very issue is that we have no pictural element at all (but the bow) telling something about us, our business, or state-of-mind

- For some of us, #2 is a good one. For some others, the character looks too much like the one we can in a major French mobile phone operator (called Bouygues Telecom). For me, the font type is definitely not bold enough and using it might be difficult, for instance in small size on a web page.

- #27 and #28 : the name coming out of the can is a nice concept. But it's difficult to read perfectly the whole word.

- #8 and some others by Chandi look nice, but like #20 and #14, it may not 'customized' enough.

- #13 looks nice, but the tin box/can looks too much like an egg cup (too much squeezed)

- #31 and #34 are so creative... but should more easily used as ad campaigns than as a logo

- #3, #28, #30 are funny, probably too much ?

We still have to analyze some not listed here.

Best regards, and thanks for your work,

Olivier
