Our Ideas & Additional Information
We are located in California's Wine Country, in Lake County, north of Napa Valley. Our hives are located in two different apiaries: the first one is near walnut and pear orchards, and the second one overlooking a vineyard in the Red Hills area, a mountainous area with rich red volcanic soil.

We believe in natural (a.k.a biological) beekeeping: no chemicals, no antibiotics. Our honey is not filtered or heated.

Our smallest jars are 2.6 ounces (56g), so we need a logo that would be readable on labels that are 1'' (2.41cm) high.

We also don't want to feature lavender flowers on our labels, because although we do have lavender planted near some of the hives, we don't harvest a lavender honey. We do however like the purple/lavender color for the logo, especially combined with orange.

FYI, the "play flight" - also known as the orientation flight - is the dance young bees make around the hive when they are first led by elder bees to explore their environment.

Added another photo (this time of two different varietal honeys our bees produce).

Hi ! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.
