Our Ideas & Additional Information
This is an "upgrade" to an existing logo, which is attached. We want the new logo to seem like it has "evolved" from the old one, meaning there will some similarities to it, something like when Coca-Cola and Pepsi updated their logos--you knew it was just an update not a complete change. The current fonts (Bell MT, BakerSignetBT) can be changed but don't have to be. After we complete the logo we'll be revamping our website to match the new look.

Some more input on the design. The current company logo uses the circles in an arc to loosely represent a grapevine, which correlates to the "vine" in the name. The Vine idea is appropriate for the Internet "collaboration" work we do, with the "vine" symbolizing a connected set of users being "part of the vine".

Like some of the depth of the initial designs 1-12. Definitely favor the two-tone (blue-green) "OpenVine" names, as well as having "OpenVine" be more prominent than "Solutions". Also, I would omit any parts of plants--it seems to make it too drastic a jump from the original logo. This is an Upgrade to the current logo elements and introducing an plant-like image makes it move too far from the original.

I'm actually warming up to the idea of including references to a vine / plant / leaf if it's subtle enough. That, along with the "grapevine" images (circles) are appealing. I prefer upper and lower case to all caps, including the capital "V". The line "Solutions, Inc." could also be written as "web solutions"---the text might change, but it will be about the same length, so what's most important is the font and placement. Here are some fonts that are appealing for "OpenVine"...

Kuenst480 Blk BT
Quorum Blk BT
CaslonOldFace Hv BT
Gothic821 Cn BT

I'm sure there are others that are similar.

To build off the previous posts, here is a link to some sample logos which are "in the ballpark":

http://openvine.com/logo-ideas.html

Would like to take these or ideas like them and make them more "Web 2.0ish". Will still need a 2-color "flat" version for printing and promo products, but we want the logo to reflect the latest web design styles, which is depth, gradients, shadows, etc.

What's appealing about #4 is the "3d circle"---that style of an element that has depth, although in this case without the vine or with a very subtle version of it. Referring back to the logo ideas (http://openvine.com/logo-ideas.html), I would be interested in seeing the top one on that page but with the style of button in #4 or #18 (but without the black vine).

What I like about #24 and #26 is the simplicity of overall design, and the next step would be to make the individual non-text elements with a "3d" look.

#25 I would like to see this same type of design, but without the bottom arc of circle, alternating colors on the top circles, as well as making them with depth (shadow, gradient, etc.)
#29. I really like the circle element and its vibrancy in color. The "two-leaf" image looks kind of like a check mark in the circle (I could also see where it might be the "v" in Vine encircled by the "O"). I would like to see a single leaf or possible a simple "three-leaf" image instead. Remember, simple is good. Also, reduce the size of "Solutions" on the second line.
#34 I like the creativity--it's little too complex. Simple is better. Very nice positioning of the second line. I think it looks great right-justified. Change the colors to reflect the ones provided.
#51 #52 Like the simplicity in the designs. Would like to see the second line right-justified and in a lighter color and little larger.
#24 & #26 Would like to see the design element (vine) with more depth (gradient or shadow).
#32 Very nice "swoosh". I had not considered that until you presented it. Would like to see it blend more seamlessly into the "V". If the left side of the V extended up, that would become the line at which the "swoosh" would end (just slightly different than the current design). It might be possible to blend it into the right side of the V as well. Nice font. Would like to see the second line right justified, but good sizing.
#53 Maybe see the vine element circling the "O" instead of on top. Like the drop-shadow.
#43 Nice design element. Would like to see what it looks like in place of the "O" (reducing it to the current size of the "O"). Also, make the second line a little larger and right justified.
