Intersecting learning, leadership, and GIS
What We Do
We are the Ohio Valley Chapter of the Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA). (EMPHASIS) Our area covers the states of West Virginia, Western half of Pennsylvania and Ohio. NOT Just Ohio
We are a Professional Organization (Non-Profit) that serves Geographic Information Systems (GIS) professionals in Federal, State, Regional and Local Governments, Private Companies, Colleges and Universities and other Non-Profit organizations.
Our organization is focused on the professional development of people that have chosen a career that utilized GIS Technologies. That includes education on the technical side of the industry as well as leadership and professionalism within the industry.
Color Preferences
The parent organization's color is just Blue.
Blue, Green, Black, White and Grey
We are open to other colors that work.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We like the hill and river valley concepts. We do not have pine trees or mountain peaks. Our region has rolling mountains and deciduous trees like oak, maple, walnut etc.
I have provided other chapter logos that were created by volunteers. They all contain the existinting URISA Logo within their logo. I DO NOT LIKE ANY OF THESE LOGOS SO PLEASE DO NOT BASE OUR LOGO ON THESE OTHER LOGOS.
We are a geographic, technology, association of professionals. We would like the logo to take these three ideas into consideration. The Ohio Valley is a reference to the Ohio River Valley that ties the three states together. It starts in Pittsburgh and runs along the boarder of Ohio and West Virginia.
