What We Do
Nourished in the Word is the teaching and preaching ministry of Pastor Ray Rhodes with a focal point of developing material that is designed to help in God-centered family relationships.

Color Preferences
We will provide color information once we see some design ideas. The description and samples below should give you a good idea for the color pallet. We want to avoid anything "trendy" like you might see in a Web2.0 logo.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Here are some websites with nationally recognized ministries where you can view their logos:

http://www.insight.org/
http://www.intouch.org/
http://www.crown.org/
http://www.gty.org/
http://www.coralridge.org/default.aspx

It would be nice to see a variety of marks to go along with the text - family-oriented imagery, church-related, etc. (no doves). The primary emphasis of the ministry is family, marriage, character-building in children, family worship, biblical roles of men and women, etc.

Also, Ray Rhodes has written several books related to the topics above. The logo does not need to look "cute" or too busy - and should look like a reputable, polished, established ministry.

Please do not use any symbol or icon related to "food." It really should be more focused on a Christian theme than a "healthy" or "food" theme. Thanks!

Even with #6 or #7 there is no need to have even a hint of the leaf or "healthy" The shadow under and behind the cross and the gradient on the cross seem to make it too busy. Again, this "may" be on a shirt, embroidered and there would be no way to reproduce this.

We'd really love to see designs that were approached much more like this was a church. And if you look at the sample websites listed in the brief, you'll see ideas.

Hi! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

I really like the way #20 and #21 can be used w/ the icon on top or to the side. And I like how the font is stacked. And I like the "idea" of the icon. It incorporates the cross and the dots tie in the "family-oriented" nature of the ministry.

I like #19 - might like to see the words stacked. And I like the icon, but I'm not sure that it ties into the theme of "Christian, family-oriented" ministry. But it looks very nice.

I saw this today and really like the concept of having the abstract Bible and something shown out of the Bible. I'd like to see something like this w/ our ministry name - the Bible - and maybe a family instead of the person / sun, etc.

I really like the direction of the new submissions (#22, #23, #24 and #25). I'd like to see the icon in a different position - more like the link I provided - see how that looks.

Also, the star burst may be too busy. It looks "stacked" on top of the logo. We have text, then the Bible, then people, then the star burst. Is there a way to simplify it a bit? It may not even need the star burst at all.

We would really like to see other ideas for our logo - that do not include the people / bible.

To All: Can we see, as an icon, some related to an olive branch as the plant. We searched through hundreds of "olive branch" images and really like this concept - which has a strong biblical image. Here's a branch concept we LOVED and would not mind seeing replicated - almost identically or stylized or incorporated into your own icon:
