Our Ideas & Additional Information While the main objective is to portray a sense of new commercial and recreational growth & opportunity, there would still be a desire to pay homage to the site's important past thru use of subtle design cues. These design cues might not be noticeable to the average person or transplant resident, but would be recognizable to the residents who have an understanding and appreciation for the history of LaPorte. For instance, this might simply be a portion of the logo that is touched with Allis Chalmers “orange” or possibly having a letter in the logo name modeled after the very interesting and recognizable Allis font type. We will need the "P" in "NewPorte" to be capital or same height as the "N".2. Preference would be for the signature orange color to be more of an accent color than the predominant color.3. Interested to see if/how an element symbolizing retail commerce and recreational fitness might be incorporated. This particular development will have walking trails, native wetland is adjacent to 2 small fresh water lakes. 9 years ago Holladay Properties Client we wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone participating thus far. We love the designs being created. Most seem to be center oriented if form (which is not a bad thing) and wondering if there might be options that would show a form in which there was a right or left justification. While we like the orange accent, wondering what a predominantly neutral color logo would look like, with or without a minor touch of orange accent. 9 years ago Holladay Properties Client General information- we will mainly be using the logo for placement on ground monument signage at the road entryways into our development. Think identification signs for shopping centers. With that in mind, wording needs to be easy to read and any logo element should be simplistic and/or easy to identify what it is symbolizing. While we like the use of orange as a subtle wat to symbolize the sites former use, we are not married to this color. We are open to more neutral colored designs. As mentioned before, our development is a new retail shopping center that is located on a former industrial factory site. The factory made farm tractors and was a major employer for the city for nearly 60 years. The factory was torn down about 10 years ago. Our new shopping center site is surrounded by two lakes and adjacent to a historical downtown area. The site also has natural wetland areas, along with ornamental grasses and native flowers like purple cone flowers and black eyed Susan. Not sure if this inspires different views or not, but wanted to pass along 9 years ago
