Primary color is okay, maybe can be tweeked a bit to be a little darker/less pastel. Maybe you could play around with the secondary color, which I'm not crazy about. I posted more comments about your design(s) on the front page before learning that I could comment privately/directly to you, so you might want to check out what I wrote there. Thanks! jbf P.S. Good job avoiding those annoying lower-case "G"s in the Ambient font by capitalizing COUNSELING GROUP!
I made some 'adjustments'. The idea behind #21, #22 and #23 is that people tend to live in a vicious circel and with help of New Visions they can flow out of that circle.
Yes, the enso. I like it, although I am not sure that meaning totally translates. I needed your explanation to get it. I do like the red orange, but then the logo connotes fire/flame, which isn't quite ideal. The pictoral aspect on top will also offer a few challenges for use on letterhead/envelopes etc. Overall, I definitely think you are onto something, so would look forward to future incarnations. Thanks. jbf
For #23. The "enso" is an interesting symbol and I actually use it quite a bit in my work as a metaphor. I would like to see this design with the O without the upward swoosh, but larger and a different color, like you have it now. I'm also not a fan of the primary color for #23. Those two colors together are a little too Miami Vice for my taste, if you know what I mean by that. What if you tried the color scheme you used for # 22, matching the O and counseling group together, while keeping new visi ns that orange? I'm open to other color combinations as well.
I'm liking the layout of #28 and #29. The enso might be a little too literal. I think, if you go with a strict enso, maybe one that appears less violent/furious would work better. The one you have chosen has a fast/quick energy to it. Maybe you can find one that is softer, rounder, more gentle, with fewer sharp brushstrokes. I agree that #29 is more readable and balanced.
Hey Don, I think it's time to move away from the literal enso (unless you find some others to try out). I'm curious what #37 will look like if you just use the original O, the one from Ambient. Maybe play around with the rotation. I'm also open to some other color combinations. I was checking out a website called colourlovers which really offers some fascinating color combinations, if you want to check that out to get some ideas. That's all I got for you for now. Cheers.
I agree about the first rotation, as in #21 and #22. Those designs continue to sit well with me, mainly because they are more dynamic. I also like the amount of white space in the break of those Os, which there seems to be less of (a break) in #46. I know I have your designs ranked first, but I think this is in good part due to the quality of your rivals. I like your designs, obviously, but am not wowed quite yet. SO, how about we take a different approach? Pretend you are opening a counseling clinic (by this name) and want to design a logo for it. Instead of trying to guess at/try to please me, please yourself. Make the best logo you could make if this were your business. Maybe that will yield a completely different, and better, result. What do you think?
#92 : I had to make one more with the enso in it. Because you liked the idea This one is more stylized/less obvious and more modern! There are even multiple ensos in it, but you'd have to think of an explanation for that ;-)
The colors are that of the #51 / no1 entry ofcourse but can be changed quickly!
#91. Finally! A design that made me go "oooooh" the moment I saw it. I LOVE the pictoral mark. I also like the colors, obviously. I am about 90% sold on the font, so would be curious to see some other incarnations of this design with only the font changed. Good job! You are so far in the lead right now it's not even funny. (I like #92 also, of course, but if I had to choose between the two it'd be #91 since it emphasizes growth)
After looking at a whole lot of fonts I picked the ones used in #116 #117 and #118. If you would like to see more variations : i'm more then happy to show you some!
I uploaded two new versions of the logo with capitals #170 with just a capitalized N and V and #171 which I made slightly bolder. I personally think the all-lowercase version looks friendlier and I personally favor that one. Just my two cents..
I like the verticality of the capitals and, while all lower case is certainly trendier, I think that capitalized is more timeless and seems to add a little more curvature and character (movement). Otherwise the "tree" seems to just rise out of a flat surface. I like both though, to be honest. Tough call.
It's a matter of taste ofcourse.. but.. I've thought about it and weighed the possible solutions.
With the capitals the logo becomes slíghtly less friendly/slíghtly less playful but more professional. And that's a good thing because although your services are good for people and the logo should have a positive vibe (which it still has), it still is a business that needs to be taken seriously (it's not all fun and play) and the logo should have some 'authority'. This is where the capitals do a good job.
In short: yes I agree with the capitals ;-)
I hope I made your choice somewhat easier!
PS. if you have any more alterations for me to make, don't hesitate to ask me to.
I'm happy i'm still leading! A lot of nice design have been submitted the last couple of days. It got me a little worried to be honest. My fingers hurt by crossing them all day ;-)
I uploaded two logo's with lesser space between the letters. #359 and #360.
#394. Even better! I recommend moving New a bit farther to the right. I think the space between the logo and the upper-left part of the V (in Visions) should be the same as the space between the logo and the lower part of the w (in New). If you move New a bit, this will also slightly improve the relationship between the arc and the N.
While you are judging I can still make alterations to the logo as I'm ranked first. I say this because I have to get to work in an hour. I can make more adjustments if you'd like that after I get back (or in this hour ofcourse ;-) ).
