You asked what would make your logo win first place. Having an image to go with the excellent words design. We've been focussing on the 'NE' with most other designs. Letters won't work with this design, as the 'N' at the start is so prominent. We need something new and innovative to go with this design.
UX Feedback: increase the white space between the 'E' and the orange line to the left of it (so shrink the orange line). So double the current white space.
Increase 'Experts' by about 15%.
Everyone liked this, and we were wondering what it needs.
Here's our thoughts:
1. Change the pea-green to more of an apple green (i.e. darker).
2. The green on only the 'NE' letters doesn't yet gel. Let's see a variation with the whole 'Negotiation' word as green, and another without the green.
3. Change the font to a font similar to: http://screencast.com/t/pKxo40LP - but slightly heavier/medium in size. I like its corporate appearance.
4. Try making 'experts' all lower case, and add more kerning - similar to 'experts' here: http://screencast.com/t/pKxo40LP
Hey Scott, I'm on a call with my UX now. I like the 'N', and want to lose the 'e' with the green circle in the middle.
My UX is now being more precise (and somewhat contradictory) in his feedback:
"The 'E' in the middle of the 'N' seems confusing. It doesn't clearly communicate what it's purpose is. I'm not sure what dot represents either.
I do like the structure of the 'N' it feels strong and robust yet modern."
Just discovered what you were referring to by the 'private upload page'! I didn't see any clues from this site that I had a message here. I understand your logic now, thanks. No doubt you've noticed my detailed feedback in our email messages.
The icon is an abstract letter N with letter e. I've take my cue from the original Logo The N is a very simplified version of the Rook piece with out being obvious. The split N is the puzzle pieces. the circle represents a globe which the company is global.
