[design #1] Good first start. I like the path and shade of green. Feel free to incorporate some Hawaiian icons like taro plants, sand, palms, canoes, etc. Not overly excited about the silhouette people at the top of the hill.

[design #7] I like this one best so far, although I haven't been able to chat with my colleagues and won't be ranking them until get get a chance to look them over together. I like the shape and colors. Palm trees are great, but maybe a bit overplayed on the islands. How about some taro? (http://bit.ly/TaroImages)

Designs #13 and #7 are the best so far.
#13 has good color, font color, but not really into the square logo... round would be better, similar to #7. Any chance we can the whole taro (plant+root) in and have it be the primary structure in the logo?
#7 has a crisp look and I like the balance and colors, the font is great. If the palm was replaced with a whole taro plant, (including the root), it might make the number 1 spot. I'll have to confirm that with my colleagues.

OK, I talked with my people and we're thinking we like the taro plant (whole) as the main structure and we would like the path to enter the bulb of the root, as if it was one of the smaller roots. Anyone want to attempt this?

There are three of us judging this contest so please don't remove your design until we all get a chance to look them over.
