#20 - Interested to see how this would look if you used the colors from #30 and had the leaf stem originate in Hawaii and wrapping around the world, and using a taro or kalo leaf. thanks
version with taro leaf. Designing anything but a stylized simple version of the leaf, which is very detailed in reality, will lead to a crowded design and problem with black and white versions when printing. I'll submit my concepts accompanied by black and white versions to avoid worries.

Followup comment: It's possible that by then end of the competition that #38 could be the winner if the leaf looked more authentic to the Taro with some orientation/rotation adjustments. #43 has a good leaf, but it's got a 2-D look and is not flowing enough. Maybe a wider strip of the sand color too?

modified version. Leaving the text black or dark grey puts more accent on the mark and also takes care of the whole balance of the logo. I've designed a taro leaf that is not flat, but bent. The orange line signifies the beach of Honolulu. Thank you
