Thanks for the great entries. The concept on both of these is great, but they feel washed out. Can you try a few variation such as: make the white a clear white; maybe shrink the background box to a more defined shape/ size (we need these to work in print); invert these and darken the green (and maybe try one with some "gloss" on the pen in #109)? Again, these look great, thanks.
These are great, thanks. #123 is nice but the black feels too dark, can you try it with a different color / tone? You had some where the "logo" wasn't round didn't you? #124 is nice, but the turned down corner is a little distracting, too close to the text, and feels a bit like it is peeling - we like the reference to our old logo though. Can you do this one a simple rectangle? Thanks again for the hard work.
Thanks for the new entries, these are great. #136 is terrific. Can you put the text back onto one line - like #121? The initials in the box are nice, but we are steering away from stylized letters - we always have a hard time reading them. Thanks again, these are beautiful.
Sorry, can we make a couple more requests? On #136 can you try one without the "gloss" on the square - we always worry about how well that prints. And can we try one with the box in grey? Thanks again.
These new one are great, just one more request, I promise. Can we see #147 with the text more like #121 - Upper and lower case? Basically keep everything about #147, but change to upper / lower case and shrink / slide "Personal Bookkeeping..." under "Accountant." Thanks again for making all these adjustments. We really like this concept, we just want to see all our options with it.
Sure, don't worry about it. Anything else you need to see just ask. The simpler the logo the less it will wear out in time. Adobe Garamond is indeed more suitable as a font in your case because it's ageless. I will submit the changes shortly. Thank you for the prompt and informative feedback. Thanks again for all of these, they are really spectacular. The new series - #177 - are nice but feel a little "blockie." They don't have the same refined elegance that you captured with the beautiful quill graphic. Thanks again for all your hard work, and the nice comments.
Thanks for the new entry - #221 - I think the quill in #148 has a terrific balance of modernity and classic elegance. What we are struggling with is whether to incorporate the "gloss" a la #136 or not. Thanks again.
Athy, For the sake of peace I am quoting here the same basic comments I posted with FullMetalJacket (I'd prefer that the two of you not "discuss" the issue here in these "public" comments sections.
"FMJ, First off the current rankings are not an indication of our final decision. There are several great designs here and we are seriously considering many of them (some not even in the top ten - although variations mostly), and we are also considering our options to purchase multiple designs. Although we appreciate that yours was the first design to incorporate the " feather pen" (I'll call it a quill) in a box, yours was not the first to incorporate the quill, nor the first to incorporate a box. We don't feel that combining the two was a radical stretch for talented designers such as you and Athy (among others). There have been several great variations on many themes here, with many of yours being among our favorites. We are still considering ALL the great designs, so please do not assume that you have not "won" because yours is not the top ranked currently (or at the end of the contest. Again, thanks for your terrific work. P.S. I will post a similar comment with Athy - I'd like to avoid any conflict here."
We really appreciate the work that all the designers have done and the natural progression of the design has led to some terrific options for us. As mentiond to FMJ we have not finalized on anything - too many great, subtle differences, all of which "say" something different about us as a company. Thanks again for your work.
Thanks, I see that some posts were edited, and I'm glad things have been sorted out. We'll be in touch shortly with a selection, and thanks for the offering both glossy and "matte."
