Top Three Things to Communicate
#1 - Learning
#2 - Safety
#3 - Fun
Our Target Audience:
Parents/stay-at-home mothers interested in highly developed children, high standards.
We are the only school in our area that is offering cameras that parents can view on a secure website!
This is the 'niche' we are trying to fill: safety/knowing what your child is doing while you are away/giving parents a "window" into their child's day...mom's can log-in from their laptop or cell phone while running errands/dads can log-in while at work, etc.
We also have a very interactive website being built, and we are looking for parents that are committed to being a part of their child's school. Parents that are somewhat computer savvy, middle class or upper middle class.
Most likely, families are working dads and stay-at-home moms, because we offer three hour preschool sessions, (NOT baby-sitting care/all day childcare).
Since we don't have the word "preschool" in our name, we think it might be important to convey that in our tagline and possibly our logo.
Our tagline: "Preschool with results you can SEE" is a play on the word see, since parents really can see their child with our online cameras.
However, we are also thinking of: "A window into your preschooler's day" or "interactive preschool", etc.
If anyone has a logo that may inspire a tagline more fitting to what we are doing, that is great!
We are not stuck on the idea of actually using a star in the logo, even though that is the obvious choice. We just want something to define us!

Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
So far, we are really impressed at the skills and creativity that a lot of the logos offer!
Our board is very excited to see new ideas, so please keep them coming! We keep calling each other every time a new logo entry is received to talk about it! We are holding votes as we go, and there isn't a clear winner yet--even more surprising is that our favorites are quite different styles of designs.
#63 We greatly appreciate your new entries, and this one is great because it gives us the flexibility to market the logo as something unique, but not too abstract. We had really liked #15, but overall our team felt it was a bit too abstract. We like all of your designs because they feel very professional and high quality.
#51 We are surprised by how much we like this logo!! As a group, we haven't been extremely impressed by the animated/kid friendly designs until your entry! We love that you were able to capture the "fun" aspect, but without sacrificing quality!
#57 We like this design a lot--it seems to represent fun and unity. We LOVE that the inside makes a star, without it being so blatent and obvious.
We are hoping for a few minor changes that might make it more fitting to us. With six people/figures it creates the yellow inner star as a six-pointed star, which can be easily mistaken as a religous symbol. We are not affiliated with any religion and would prefer a five pointed star. Also, the cursive font is something we'd like to stay away from.
#38 Our team also likes this entry because it is just very clean, nice fonts, overall a good, professional logo but it just doesn't WOW us like we wish it did. Possibly the handprints could be doing something else, creating a shape or at least representing something?? Just handprints seems too...common, for lack of a better word. It is still one of our favorites, but again it just seems like something isn't quite done??
Thank you for your time, and we hope you'll submit another revision?
To ALL: Our name (MorningStar) is many other famous things (breakfast sausage, finance/business, computer software, etc) but we are a preschool. We want our logo to be unique enough that it will hopefully be well known to us, by the local community.
Please know that we DO NOT require an actual star...in fact, some of our favorite designs so far do not have stars, or make stars in a unique way!
Thank you--keep the creativity coming! We love this!
#28, #25, and #24 We like your designs a lot. We appreciate that you added some cute children to give the look a little bit more of a fun effect, but we think that maybe more abstract children faces would blend more with the original design?? Not sure why, but we think it is that the logo and the faces seem so different. We like them (the faces and the original sun/star) but not together...they don't seem made for each other. Hope that makes some kind of sense.
Still, the colors and the quality make all of your designs on our list of favorites.
#4 Some of our team likes this concept, but we agree as a whole that the font is not suitable to us. If you could change the font, it would give us a better chance to consider this entry.
#51 (and #40) This is a favorite by many on our team, but when we started asking others in our office to help chime in to vote among our favorites, many didn't realize it was a magnifying glass...we are wondering if we knew what it was because we had already seen #40?? But, we like that the words can be read more clearly in #51.
Would you please make another version that somehow outlines the handle or makes it even more obvious somehow?? We're getting down to the end of the contest, and we need to know that people in general would recognize the idea.
I hope there is enough time to modify this a few ways because it has real potential to be the final design!
#63 Our team had a lot of positive response to this!! LOVE the ladybug, it just adds something for that extra touch! We greatly appreciate your time and it is certainly on our short list as a favorite!
#87 We like the circle/seal design, we like the colors and font, but the figures inside appear to be still--appear to be not having fun or playing...in an obvious way, so it seems to portray the wrong message to us. But, if the figures inside were different it would be a possibility.
#56 and #57 We like this concept, but without changes from the previous feedback, we can't consider it. The star size (with six sides) and the font just make it the wrong fit for us. If you have time to alter it, we would appreciate it! thanks-
Hi Scottcate, Really sorry ...I just missed ut the feedback for #57 earlier.... HAd to check out few times to find out the feedback.... I was wondering Y no feedabck for me??? Now I can see it and will submit the changes soon... Thankyou Sandhya.
So...we have shown our logos to a panel of over 200 people representing our target audience and have some feedback...if there is anyone else that may want to create a logo:
Aside from #105 (and the logos by that designer), No one has created anything that really highlights the fact that parents will be able to VIEW their children online while they are at school.
Something that would appeal to parents that are interactive...parents that get online, use computers, etc.
We have extended the contest so that we can decide between #105 and #63. Our team is locked with 50% in favor of each of these designs. We're going to get some outside, unbiased opinions from a review panel and will manually end the contest early as soon as we are 100% agreement about one of these. We thank you all for such interesting entries, and hope to have MorningStar represented soon!
