Love #245, but the handsands get completely lost. It looks like a sun - which I like, but not sure it's strong enough for our logo. Maybe with the heads facing each other will change the look? I'd also want to see one of the pairs of people bolder and the others washed out/faded a little. That may help make the figures stand out a bit more.
Lauren's feedback: Hmmm.... #245 works! It looks good from far and kind of cool up close. I am not in love with the new people. They are cool, but still a little bit hard to discern. I think my biggest problem with it is that from far, the two people in handstands look like a scary face (the heads are the eyes and the shapes make the nose) Maybe can you make one handstand figure (the female one) a little smaller than the other (male one) ? Great work! Yay!
#249 #248 Brian and I both agree that these don't look as good as the heads facing away from each other. We want to sit with this logo for a little bit :) The shape is cool! We like the energy line going through the center. The colors, fonts and shading are perfect!
Can you keep playing with the concept of #243? Perhaps one person a bit smaller than the other, but with the head circles at similar levels? Or maybe one person in a scorpion handstand one straight up? I'm not sure... but these are great!
I like the one that looks like handstands in a sun, Brian a bit less so.
Lauren again #243 I had an idea: maybe if you take the exact same shape and reduce the size of one of them by 15% and then line them up the same way, it might work....
I don't know if this will work, but just to try one last thing can you separate the figures slightly and put the small head on the inside of the (without changing the shape) and keep the big guy as is??
Or maybe try one with only flipping the little guy but not the big? I don't know if it will work at all... but I love it!
Okay Brian and I are talking about #261 versus #257 Can you find a happy medium? Something between these two? Slightly less squiggly than #257 but slightly more angled than #261 and a tiny bit more separated between the two handstands? Keep it up!
Hiya, These new ones are probably still not squiggly enough (curved enough) for Brian. We both agree that the mans head should be slightly bigger than the woman's like in #261
I'm working on for updates but the contest is in judging mode and only the 1st ranked designer is allowed to submit according to LT rules. So, u have to put me to the 1st place temporarily and i'll be able to submit new submissions...
#283 is looking a bit better... it still seems a little to stagnant for me. Can you try and separate the people more and have their feet coming in to touch towards the top - The heads would have to be facing in again - as long as they're spaced well it could work better - it would look a little like an upside down spade.
I gave the current first place designer a chance to submit some final revisions on his concept to see if he can make it work... for now it doesnt seem like thats the case. Lauren REALLY loves this concept... I'd like to see if we can make it work better.
Let us know when you have something new and we'll gladly put you back in first position!
To add to my above comments - We do also really like the concept in #245 in conjunction with the logo. Can you see if you can recreate the 'sun mandala' you did in 245 using the concept I requested above - the 'spade' approach?
Thanks so much! so excited to see the updates! Brian
thanks for the updates! Can you make it so their feet are coming in towards each other rather than pointing away. Also if you could make the people a bit more smoother - shaped more like #283 - the people would be forming an arch essentially - like the shape of a spade (from a deck of cards). The way you have them designed in #297, it would work better if you switched the left one on to the right and right to the left side, keeping their heads the same (that way the heads would be on the outside.... You can try either way (heads on the inside or out, but the feet should come in.
In forming the shape described above, the people could also be separated more, creating a wider base - which would also make the logo more visible. As such you'll need to arc the bodies more (in the real pose they would have a back bend in order to bend their legs back towards the middle.
Thanks for the updates, unfortunately still not getting it though lol Here's a picture i found of the type of handstand i'm thinking of. If you mirror two people doing it with their feet touching it would create the concept i was trying to explain.
Just wondering if you had a chance to work on the revisions. I know Lauren really likes #283, but i'm still having issues with it. I would still prefer seeing the concept I described on top. I personally prefer the figures in #286 better. Part of the problem for me with #283 is the bottom - there's something weird looking - it looks to me like fishes mouths. I think part of the problem is that the hands go too far back - in #286 they are a bit more forward - which is more similar to a proper handstand alignment. Lauren prefers the smoother lines - I personally prefer the slightly more angular approach - it's stronger to me and better represents the human form. Can you use the form and alignment of #286 but make it a bit smoother as you have it in #283... something in between- but the hands should be further apart from each other - pointing away from each other.
Lauren's feedback: #306... it doesn't work... it looks like a scary ghost.
Maybe try again to make the female figure 15% smaller (the head too) and put her feet touching a bit lower down (like where his heels or ankles would be)
I still love the one we ranked as number one the best!! It is my favorite!!!!
Thanks for trying the revisions, still not sure it's working... if you can try a version of #286 a little softer like #283... Maintaining the hand positions as in #286. If you could also play with moving the fiigures a little further away and making one if them a slightly different colour or shade making them stand out a little more individually.
Let's stick with #283 as the base. We both like it. If you can curve out the bottom hands just a little that would be great (to make Brian happy)
We had an idea about how to make the colors different: Can you just reverse the shading gradient on the female figure. (Example, both figures now go from dark to light... let's keep the same colors but just make the female figure go from light to dark.)
Also, can you show us how the logo would look as a watermark - use #320 as the example.
Oh I just saw that you did this with the shading in #314 and #315 This is good :) The shape is a bit off... please stick with #283 as a base and just curve out the bottom please.
Lauren again Okay Brian and I keep talking on the phone.... Let's try a shape between #283 and #315 We want to see the figures separated a little (one over the O of Montreal and one over the A)
Also, let's try one handstand in the darker blue color you have been using, and one in the lighter cyan color So the figures are almost the same color but just a little bit different. Please use a gradient shading on them like you have been because we do love that. The gradient can be lighter to darker now instead of from the blue to the cyan.
Hi Yavuz, I want to thank you for your incredible hard work and all the many concepts you gave us during our contest.
Brian and I both really wanted to choose you as a winner because of how well you responded to feedback and how many revisions and concepts you gave us.
However, in the end we chose the other designs- this was due to the feedback of friends and family and also because the circular design looked better as a watermark in black and grey.
We were really hoping that as second place you will still receive some money as compensation for the contest. Do you?
In any case, we wanted to personally thank you for your amazing work and tireless efforts during the past weeks. Thank you!!
Is it possible to exchange contact information so we can hire you (outside of logo tournament) for design work in the future?
Let us know. It has really been a pleasure working with you. In joy, Lauren and Brian
