Discussion

A round, flutted column would work better on these logos. The one used looks Spanish.

Also, since virtue seems to be a main theme with the college, I wonder what 'virtue' would look like as a logo. Not the word 'virtue' but just as an inspiration for the logo. Shanon, I couldn't find what your directive was for the contest so I don't know if you included words of inspiration like: Intellectual nourishment, intuition, truth, honor, citizenship, moral courage, resistance to fatigue, etc. Sometimes just thinking of these words can produce a certain shape and color to the logo process.

Joelle,

Those are great describers, I would add: love of country, educe, mentor, self-discipline, pay the price, leading is lonely, entrepreneur, Gandhi, G. Washington, saving and frugality, delayed gratification, Monroe Doctrine and homesteading. Add to that: big thinking, deep thinking, Public Virtue (self-sacrifice), disinterested, family, spouse, father and mother.

The red color is a definite no for me. #15 and #16 look like like circus tents due to the slope in the roof lines. I do like the fresh ideas. Keep them coming artists!

I was looking at some other college logos today, schools like; Mount Mary College, Auburn College, Hilsdale College and Huntington College.

I think this is the direction we want to go. I am thinking colonial period, red brick and white trim. I don't know what the building should look like exactly but I know I do like that direction and I do know that the buildings we are erecting are colonial period architecture.

Dear CH,

Would you please upload the images of your building(s), so, we can use them as reference.

Thanks.

I'd like to see #33 with the pillar coming from an incline (hinting of a mountain). Sort of like the Prudential logo at http://www.prudential.com/view/page/public/12873?sp=1. As the logo stands right now, its a bit too basic and needs some sophistication.

Dear Joelle
The best for "us" the designers is if you can write the specific comment for each designer in the specific designer page (clicking in each logo you access to).... then we receive an email each time you write a comment :) ... and the process of update the logos is faster....

Thanks in advance
