I HIGHLY recommend not using Nintendo's copyrighted mushroom in your logo. Maybe no one from Nintendo will notice at this point but if they do, you'll have to change your entire brand's look. Rather be known for your product instead of being known as that up and coming company that had to file for bankruptcy after being sued!
hi Jason, (entry #36) - nice! i like the emphasis on the 1UP and the logo shines nicely - definitely agree about the "copyright" issues; its one of the reasons why i am looking for new ideas on how to play with the concept - and, why i created this contest.. :) i like the subtleness of the B and E being "upside down" :) gives it an interesting effect!. look forward to alternative designs from you.
#60 and #61 - two new variations developing my earlier idea. Adding more emphasis on the "1up" and using the same unique font but this time making "1up" more readable and in #61 adding an antenna to further emphasize the "mobile" aspect.
I was toying with adding an iphone type element but you had mentioned expanding into other markets and it would be another possible copyright issue as with the mushroom.
entry - #62 i like the subtle mushroom reference here.. not sure about the antenna; and the B and E seem to be upside down? is this intentional? it might look better the other way around. i really like glowing look of your icons
#69 shows the B and E flipped, #70 also moves the antenna over the I and as another idea, #71 moves the antenna over the 1up. Please let me know if there are any other ideas variations that I can put together for you! I toyed with the idea of inverting the i to make it look like an exclamation mark but I think in terms of this being a web address, it would cause confusion.
i've moved the logo variants out of the main selection - but i want to let you know i didn't do it because i think they suck or don't match, i need to create a filter for my jury :) your a definite finalist in the competition. well done!
