What We Do
We are developing a medical device to treat tinnitus (constant ringing in the ears), which is caused by a issue in the brain. The company name is MicroTransponder, but this logotournament is for the word "Serenity" - which is the name of a new device we are developing.

Color Preferences
You can visit our website www.microtransponder.com to get an idea of our color scheme. Blues, greens, black is good. There are 2 uses for the logo. 1) We are going to put it on the device itself. Check out http://www.implantable-device.com/ to see pictures of lots of other devices that are similar to ours. For this purposes we will need a version of the graphic that is all black and white. 2) We will also use the logo for advertising on a website and in print materials. The point is that the form and style is very important because for one of our main uses, color is not able to be used. We need the graphic file in a .ai or .eps file format.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The logo is the word "Serenity" - which has a strong emotional meaning. Our device is treating a disease called tinnitus, which affects over 2 million people in the U.S. alone. These people hear a loud screeching noise (like nails on a chalkboard) 24 hours a day, every day of their lives. It is the result of a problem in the brain. It is terrible. Our device helps silence that screeching noise and restore peace and quiet.

Also - We will likely use a modified version of the logo with the phrase "Neurostimulation System" underneath as well. I would like to see that the logo we chose can incorporate this as well. We need the graphic file in a .ai or .eps file format.

Please note that you can use color in the logo, but it must also look good in black and white. (note there are 2 uses for the logo... on a website / print material and also on the actual device- which looks like a cell phone batter and has a grey background)

I would avoid sharp edges on the letters - because that seems to convey the opposite of the idea of serenity. Think of peace and calm when you are forming the letters.

It also would be nice if the font conveys a sense of easy flowing... imagine the soft sounds of the ocean playing in the background as the sun as setting as people gaze out into the ocean.

Another angle could be this - this device can eliminate tinnitus. People with tinnitus hear a high screeching sound as loud as a loud radio 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It is terrible. Our therapy can eliminate that sound and bring back peace and quiet to the person's life. Think about that when you are designing the little logo thing which is to the side of the text... not required.. but possible.

Thanks to all of the designs thus far. I have been mostly providing private comments - but thought I should add a little bit here. Since there have been limited graphics that adequately convey serenity.. the water ripple was the best so far.. we are exploring the idea of something like an ear or a seashell - which is the most common representative of the ear due to the same internal structure being a part of the design.

Ultimately as well we will need a black and white .eps - which will go on the device and then 1 version of the logo with the words "Neurostimulation System" underneath - so it is important to at least make sure that can work with the design. The website will have the color version of the logo though, so I don't want to discourage people from using color - it just can't be the only design element since for the device itself, it will just be black.

The ear and seashell ideas have been unanimously rejected by all of our reviewers.. and thus we are moving back to more of an abstract idea of serenity.

Guys, I think we are set. we just need the winning design to have the "Neuromodulation System" at the bottom and then do one version in compete black - which we can use for the medical device design.
