My thinking was a serene night, hence the moon. I imagine tinnitus must be most unbearable at night when it is quiet, so the idea of a serenity at night would be ideal.
I like the font... good idea on the moon - but something else that conveys peace and quiet would be great... the moon is too closely linked with drugs or devices that help you fall asleep at night.. which is not the core of what we are doing..
can you keep the original blue (the one with the moon) and then try something other than the ripples. our company logo - see www.microtransponder.com has something that looks like ripples at the top - it happens to be wireless sound waves... so I would like something that looks different.
I like the logos that have some sort of symbol to the left of the word so far (above works as well, it just can't be ripples)... maybe something that looks like a tiny ear instead of a dot above the "i" ? or a tiny seashell - (which is often used to suggest an ear due to the internal structure.)
Went back to the original blue. I placed the ear to the left in #66 - when I placed it over, it appeared too tall over the text and out of balance. #67 - I also think a dragonfly evokes serenity and the body segments hint at the idea of sound traveling.
I would try a seashell, but it appears another designer has submitted that concept. On LogoTournament, basically the first designer to submit a concept owns it for the duration of the contest. Using the same concept can mean disqualification. However if the designer created the design based on your suggestion, that is different.
I suggested that they do a seashell - just as I suggested for you and I will make sure you are not disqualified. plus, you can do a variation on the seashell.. .like a conch.. I also would argue that a seashell for a company that does something with the ear is obvious. The shell and ear connection is very common. my email is jordan at microtransponder dot com if I need to get involved with the logo tournament folks on this matter.
Sahmmy - I personally like yours, but I am getting significantly outvoted here by colleagues and tinnitus sufferers who think the swirl and shell is too "hokey" or too childish.. I wanted to give that feedback because you have done exactly what I asked and I am grateful for that. It just is not holding up well in the larger group's opinion.. which is important for this sort of thing.
No problem, I understand that's how these things go sometimes. I appreciate your consideration and continued feedback. It's always helpful when contest holders are so actively involved in their contests.
