I wanted people (specifically youth about to pursue post-secondary education) to be able to relate to the logo (with the U of M feel to it) but if you're looking for some different colours... request away!
I really like the new design...and although I appreciate the swing to Michigan State's style in "Michigan" we actually think it would be better to have a more generic font...neither UofM or MSU. The green is ok - Will the orange and green translate ok to black and white when it is used like that?
When you say "a more generic font", do you mean you would like something "solid" instead of the cut-out "varsity-style" font? The orange and green will translate to different shades of gray and will still work (the orange will be paler than the green). Nonetheless, I upload a black/grayscale logo for the purposes of showing you and for use in black/white printing. You don't need to rank it if you don't want. I will gladly include the b/w one in the final files should you choose to keep that look.
I really like this logo but I'm getting resistance from my partner who is running it by people who don't get that it is the "I" - they read it Jr. Ron Chef. My wife says - go ahead and put the "i" in Michigan and start the carrot a little higher up and angle it toward the "R". Maybe the leaves could look more like the dot on an I??? You're the designer...one more idea might push it over the top....;
I couldn't make the carrot into an I... it kept looking like a 'T' because of it's bottom. So I thought, why not transform the 'J' instead? This way, you get the 'I's back and they're obvious. The 'J', being the beginning of the line, can be transformed. If there are any changes to make, do not hesitate.
