My team likes
#171 as well. One of the feedback comments from my team is that the green starts too light. The comment below gives a different starting point. If we go with a monochrome logo, then the gradient would be irrelevant, and I'd find some color inbetween the starting point below and where you are now.
Also the other comment is that the "mellowventures" is slightly thin... not sure I agree, but if possible to see with slightly more weight, it would be good for comparison.
On a side note, i may have additional graphics work after this logo projects. Do you have a US$ hourly rate?

#171) looks like if he starts with #0B3BOB rather than what he has. It seems to be about one shade darker.
Also, I don't know if you asked or agreed, but I would like to see what the logo looks like if the mellowventures were just a tad thicker
