Logo Design Brief

Slogan
Embracing innovations in mass timber construction
What We Do
(The Sawyer) or (Sawyer)
The logo will serve as the name for a mass timber constructed mixed use (office, retail & residential) commercial building to be built in this year (2018) in Watkinsville, Georgia. This is the first of its kind this far south and east in the US. The brand will help the market i.e. tenants, developers, timberland owners, and mass timber manufacturers affiliate this building with the innovations of using mass timber construction as a strong alternative to traditional steel and concrete structures.

Target Audience:
future tenants - restaurants, retail stores, company office space and residential tenants

Real Estate
Color Preferences
"Black"
The primary purpose of the logo is the name of the building which will be the focal point of the 20,000 SF 2/3 story mixed use commercial building located in the middle atrium of the building. The reason I chose "black" is defines the upscale notion of the building and its construction while not competing with other tenant’s logos and signage on the building. The secondary purpose for where the logo will be most used is in marketing material and publications on the building. Third purpose would be hats and T-shirts.
Our Ideas & Additional Information

Research mass timber construction and particularly CLT (Cross Laminated Timber). One of the more popular buildings constructed with mass timbers is T3 Minneapolis. Focus on the branding of the T3 building.

The roof of the atrium of the building will be slightly tilting from right to left separating the right hand side of the building which is a 3-story unit from the left hand side which will be a 2-story. I was thinking that we could simulate this slant in the letter "T" in the Logo "The Sawyer" or slightly slant the top portion of the "S" if we just called it "Sawyer".
