it's amazing watching you guys get going with a bunch of roughs and then slowly getting your head into the nature of the client's business ... you have a great job!
i don't think the waves work as a central graphic here anyway ... regardless of active captain (who ironically turned us on to this site!) ... they're a bit hackneyed in this business.
it will be neat to see where you head next!
we're a mouthful here with "managing the waterway" and "cruising guides and electronic charting" so your typical style ... tight typography and a central, relevant and intuitive GREAT graphic will be much appreciated.
we're looking forward to seeing more of your concepts and variations.
please let us know anything we can do to help you and thank you for all of your hard work.
Really nice typography! And some very pretty styling.
But you're going to kill me here. The graphics in #495 and in the #499-501 series are way too abstract for our demographic. Unfortunately, American male boaters are definitely not looking for the deeper hidden meaning within art. You may have to hit them a little harder over the head with your concepts. [wink]
And those graphics wouldn't make a very good publisher's mark either.
The #496-498 series is MUCH closer to the mark. But, unfortunately, it's very classic (traditional) and our schtick is the new kids on the block, younger, using high-tech equipment, selling and writing books on electronic navigation tools, etc.
I posted some comments last night and this morning on the contest's main page that I think are helping some folks. You may want to check that out.
And please don't give up on us yet. We're not even close to picking a winner yet ... so keep those brain cells churning and those great design concepts coming!
