Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Hi Nancy,
Thank you for entering the contest. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone designs.
My vision for Lucasville Media is that Lucasville is the name of a fictional city, landmark or destination. I would like the logo to be fairly simple, but recognizable as a "location" ... like the "Welcome to Las Vegas" and "Hollywood" signs (see the contest attachment LucasvilleMedia.pdf) and review the logo already being used for the book series being (attached LucasvilleLegends.jpg).
Thanks! Janet

Hello, I like #5 since it looks like a shield and also #9 because it reminds me of the CBS TV logo (which is also "media" related). The #3 and #4 entries remind me of a Chevron gas station logo which is not really what I am looking for. And #2 and #7 remind me of coffee for some reason. Looking for a "village/city" post with a play on media. I would like entries to be "fun" (not too cartoony) and have a "destination" feel.
Thanks! Janet

I like #10 because it is fun and feels like a theater with the lights. It also uses the same fonts as the Lucasville Legends logo. Thanks!

The #11 entries lettering is too hard to read.

I like #14 because it kind of reminds me (a little bit) of those megaphones held by cheerleaders which has a old-time feeling. I also like it because it looks like two signposts. Lucasville is the city sign and media is something in the city... not sure how to explain this feeling.

Hello everyone, One idea I have been playing with is a simple logo (as much as possible) which consists of 3 parts.
Part 1 --> "LUCASVILLE" identification. Lucasville is a fictional area/destination and it has an arched sign over the entrance street (like the REDWOOD CITY sign: http://www.agilitynut.com/08/8/rwoodcity.jpg). The sign poles could angle down to add perspective so the sign looks like a captial V or a piece of pie standing on its tip. I like the font of Lucasville in the Lucasville Media logo I uploaded.
Part 2 --> "Media" identification. This can be a billboard or theater marquee or directional sign. Keep it simple.
Part 3 --> Background ... probably a road and something simple which will provide context for a village or city or real estate.
I hope this helps. Please keep it simple (as much as possible).
Thanks, Janet

The LUCASVILLE font in #29 and #30 is perfect. I like the use of one color. I like the shape. This still looks like one design to me. It doesn't need to be so contained. This is so hard to explain.
Starting with background something like this: http://www.clipartof.com/details/clipart/86445.html or this: http://www.clipartof.com/details/clipart/211158.html
And adding the LUCASVILLE lettering: http://www.agilitynut.com/08/8/rwoodcity.jpg
Maybe one of the structures could be identified as Media with lights around it http://www.everbriteonline.com/inventory.jsp?number=E_887800

Another suggestion: http://www.publicartinla.com/neon_signs/westlake_theater_neon.html where the LUCASVILLE and Media are attached to a support structure.

I realize that I am having trouble communicating ideas. Maybe I am making this too complicated? If anyone has questions please ask. This logo is very important to me.

Dear CH, Are you sure you own the rights to the LucasVille logo you provided as a reference? That doesn't seem to be the winning entry from your previous contest. Could you please clarify?

Thanks!,

Hello TahiaDesign, The logo I picked for Lucasville Legends is awesome, but when my client was viewing the books and discussing that logo they ended up liking the other design I am referencing. I have purchased that logo from the designer so it is OK to be referencing it. That designer has also submitted some designs for Lucasville Media. Thanks for requesting clarification! Janet

A picture is worth a thousand words --- maybe the document I have uploaded will help clarify my thoughts.
and NO laughing ... I freely admit I am not an artist.

The first one shows the LUCASVILLE arched over as a city entrance sign. The MEDIA is a directional sign toward and down the road into the city of Lucasville.
The second one has MEDIA transmitting data and while wrapping around the planet (of Lucasville?).
The third one is trying to show the village of Lucasville (identified as LUCASVILLE) with a foundation of MEDIA.
The fourth one is trying to leverage the Lucasville Legends logo.
The fifth one is a [poor] attempt to show 4 types of media with MEDIA stylized sitting on top of LUCASVILLE (not crazy about this one).
The sixth one has LUCASVILLE sitting on top of a MEDIA filmstrip ... could have MEDIA in lights or neon lights.

Again ... NO laughing and thanks for taking the time to consider my ideas.

Entries #31 and #32 are good.
Debating about the complete circle vs partial circle... but I wanted to provide feedback right away.
There are a lot buildings for a "village" .. I don't know how to make a village modern enough for MEDIA and still keep the hometown feeling.
One color is good but there is a lot going on for a single color.

I just uploaded another sketch.
The seven sketch is wedge shaped and sitting on top of LUCASVILLE (red). The left side is the village and the right side (getting taller) is the city. MEDIA is located in the cityside. I see the top half as green. Maybe the word Media is black?

The eighth sketch is the world with the city of Lucasville identified by a landmark sign. Media has a worldwide reach.

Thanks, Janet

Hello Desiginers,
I apologize for sending you mixed messages. Each logo being entered has different merits and I am getting myself confused. I am trying to take a step back and list what is important to me.
First - Simple
Second - Media (in Lucasville)
Third - Flexible (because Lucasville is going to grow)
I have reordered to put the most straightforward logos at the top, since Simple is my top priority.
I hope this helps!

Client suggestion. Similar to #51.
Blue planet with lime-green audio waves wraping around it (see: http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-13273627/stock-photo-large-excellent-high-tech-audio-sound-wave.html) and have MEDIA 3D.
Place LUCASVILLE under the planet in simple, crisp blue font.
