Our Ideas & Additional Information
In the past, the image has been a copy of the Lebanese flag, with the words Little Lebanon Restaurant or Little Lebanon Cafe written across the flag, as in the attached sample. We want to keep the basic idea of the flag (which includes the cedar tree) but as we have restaurants, cafes and takeaway, we want just the words Little Lebanon incorporated into the image, so we can use it with everything without changing. We have operated for many years and are well known, so we don't need to include the word restaurant or cafe or takeaway, but I am unsure if there is benefit in included something like Lebanese cuisine or Finest Quality and Taste, or if they are best to added on printed document and signs after the logo is created. We still like the flag idea, so don't really want to completely depart from that, but want a more modern, unique or classier representation of that. Something different that incorporates the imagery and cedar tree would be fine, if it retains familiarity and looks snappy. It will be used for signage - website - app - stationery - social media - embroidery (though this is not that important).

Discussion

Hi all. There has been some discussion and we are heading in the direction of wanting a logo that is more about the image, than the words, hence the current number one (there is still some uncertainty about that, so the top logos have not been discarded as they are good, but that is the best professional advice that we have had). While the words are still needed, we want a logo image that people will eventually identify by itself, without the need for the words, although the words will most probably still stay there. The thing is that with the desire to keep the flag colours red, white and green with the cedar tree, that limits the scope for the image. It does not though need to be something that looks Lebanese or Arabic, as the colours and tree should keep the Lebanese link. Also, the font needs to be relatively simple - easy to read and secondary to the image. Hopefully that makes sense.

To the 5 finalists. We have asked for an extension of time for this stage of the Tournament. Unfortunately the Easter break has made it difficult for the 3 decision makers to get together at the same time to work through the logos, which is slowing down our feedback at this critical stage. One of the decision makers is not computer literate, so we need to actually meet in a physical sense to go through the logos, which complicates things and it is important that we work through this stage properly. If the extension is granted for a couple of days, it will allow us to give some better feedback to refine some of the ideas and move forward with a winner. We are sorry to cause any inconvenience, but time sometimes time is not easy to work with and we want to get it at least mostly correct.

To the 5 finalists. We have had no response from the organisers to our request to extend the previous stage of the contest, to allow us more time to talk with you about design revisions. If you wish to proceed with design revisions, please message me and I will change the order of the finalists so that you can submit revisions. If you do not want to make any more revisions, please let me know, and that will be fine. I must admit, this new procedure for the contest is too fast to allow the customer to make a proper decision based on the designs - they expect the customer and the designer to be sitting next to their computer every day all day to respond immediately, which is stupid for a global system where designers and customers are in completely different time zones. I am very disappointed with the way that Logo Tournament is now operated, especially when there is no feedback to our request, yet we and you are expected to be at our computer 24/7 to respond to everything.
