Oh, no - my previous long comment got lost when my wifi went down! I basically had said that I loved the intricate typography, but because of this I think a much simpler design element is required. The circles as you've presented them look chaotic and that is opposite of what the business is meant to offer. I'd like to see something very simple paired with this type - perhaps a simpler illustration of a wheel linchpin with the circle and pin? You can google images to get an idea.
No, it's the right linchpin and I haven't excluded it. I am stuck with this Top 5 process, but the changes I'd think of having you make would be more minor. For instance, I think the ring would need to be slightly smaller to better show what it is. I'll keep moving things around and getting opinions from my friends so please don't withdraw!
Ok, my colleagues think I should explore yours more! Can you try a slightly smaller ring and move it a little closer to the text? And can you try different color combinations? Thanks!!
New design utilizing the letter h as the pin #179 #180 / #181 smaller linchpin and hexagon variant... #182 / #183 design variants based on your brief uploads...
Hi, I really like the original design element but would like to see the ring portion (not the overall design) smaller. With the original ring size, it is hard to tell what it is because the ring obscures the design a bit. Please make the ring SLIGHTLY smaller in comparison to the pin. I would like to see one version with the entire design element slightly larger as well (like 5% or so) to see if it allows you to see the detail more.
Regarding color, I'd like to see color combos that 'pop' or look modern. The grey/red looks a bit flat to me. I also want to avoid looking like http://comcast.com/ which is a major cable TV provider in the US that offers 'on demand' videos. Please see the other logos that I've like to get an idea of colors. No rainbows please :).
I just realized that there is gradient in the background. Can you try a version with it removed so I can see how it changes the effect? It will be harder to use with that background and I need to see if the visual quality changes without it. Thanks!
Great - can you try red/turquoise and orange/teal? Also try with the pin/ring same color but text different? I also like the black more than expected but think the green is too light of a color. Other options? Thanks! I'll check again in the early morning!
I made the mistake of asking for friends' opinions! Can you try the following?
1. Darken the colors slightly for the #205 to give a slightly more serious look. Some thought it too light or fun for the type of work I do. Don't want it too serious though! 2. Make the entire linchpin itself very slightly larger, move it closer to the words and perhaps center it up a bit vertically against the words. 3. Try the turquoise in 207 in place 210 and 205
