Because we are 7 people, not exactly a consensus amongst us yet, but one or two of the group are not keen on either the book or mortarboard motifs - they feel it has been overdone in the past.
I would say we're probably less bothered with the design reflecting the 'learning' element than that it is simply a memorable logo
Hi John. Ok i worked with new styles of something more "abstract". I just uploaded
Entry #80 is a logo working on the subject of 7 people (7 squares) and different colors because you are different persons with different ideas. Also it is a "L" for Learning. Entries #77 and #78 are the same style.
About the entry #72 it is also working with the 7 objects in an abstract way, trying to make the "unwrapped" theme. Like if the squares were open (unwrapped).
The Entry #79 is playing with the letter "L", there are to L's, one is normal and the other is turned.
Please let me know if you would like to see something else.
Thanks, Diana - i will make sure my 6 colleagues understand your thinking on this. Don't worry too much about the 'ranking' at this stage - all we're trying to do, with so many involved, is to make sure the best designs float somewhere close to the top at this stage :)
Hi John, I see the rankings are changing quickly. Usually if i see some of my designs in first places i start working on it to improve the design but as the rankings are changing in different ways i don't know what design i can choose to improve it or if you want new ideas. So please John if you need something just tell me and i'll be happy to do it!
Apologies for this Diana - it's simply a function of the fact that there are 7 of us ranking at different times.
We've tried to keep the top 5 to 5 different designers so that all know they are very much still in the mix
You have offered us a huge range of designs, for which we are grateful. Looking at them now, I don't feel the need to ask you to improve on what you have already given us.
yes, please do, Diana - because of the diversity of our group, it's just impossible to run this in the traditional logotournament way basically where one person is calling the shots :)
It makes it harder for the designers, I know, but your offerings are all being very well received.
You'll be pleased to know that we have decided to go with your design, entry number 119. We all like its simplicity, and we believe it will be memorable. Thank you for this.
Can I ask for a couple of tweaks to it before we officially choose this as the winner? We have made our choice, and this will not affect our decision in any way :)
Would it be possible for you to let me see the same design but with two minor variants - one with entirely lower case text, and the second with 'Title Case' ie lower case but with Capitals at the start of each word?
If you feel there are design reasons why either of these will not work, I'm happy to discuss.
I will email the rest of the group and with luck one or two of them will look at your new submissions, probably tomorrow now (it's 10pm here in Scotland, now).
Once I have their feedback, I will select a design and declare it the winner. Thank you for your flexibility on this.
I have been to Mexico City a number of times, but never to Guadalajara, although I did once do some work for the education department in your city, but remotely, so I never got to visit :)
Hi John, i also uploaded #142 and #143 making "learning" bigger than unwrapped.
So, you live in Scotland! that's nice! i wanna visit there someday! It's nice that you know my city even by name, it's like df but less crowded and not so big :)
