What We Do
We are a three-location brick and mortar garden, gift, and home decor retailer in Birmingham, Alabama

Color Preferences
We need the logo to be strong on its own in black, white, and gray tones. If the right iconic shape/symbol is achieved, we think it very well may change color with the seasons as our product offering changes seasonally.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The phrase "Leaf & Petal" must be prominent. We are interested in seeing concepts of symbols that are simple, bold, readable, memorable, and instantly recognizable as our store name and brand. This may include concepts for negative space as well as symbols evocative of our primary business (gardening/decorating with plants/flowers).

I was out of pocket for the first day. I'm very excited about many of the logo entries I'm seeing! Everyone is more than welcome to email me for questions or guidance. I'll try to be hands on from here on out.

The logo needs to be horizontally oriented (not vertical or a circle).

We're looking for a logo that contains within it a strong, simple, memorable, easily recognizable mark that people will quickly associate with us even without the phrase "Leaf & Petal." Clever and witty over busy and pretty ;)

Whether the final logo will have the slogan in it is up in the air. Some are using it, some are not. For some concepts, it may be helpful to have two submissions side by side with and without "Home Garden Giving"

Hint: definitely not a necessity, but we love oxalis, both the leaf shape and the flowers and would love to see concepts incorporating them

We're loving the logos coming in! In general, We'd love to see a little more of a feminine "boutique" vibe and less big corporate vibe.

We've always thought anemones were awesome with their distinctive beard around the stem below the flower. Could it translate into a cool logo graphic?

We would love to see more negative space options (a leaf within a flower, a flower within a leaf, plays on home and garden symbols, etc.)

I know it's a late curveball, but I just uploaded a hand drawn sketch a young artist employee had drawn a while back. While not a finished professional piece, it has an intimate connection to us on some level since it came from within. We'd love to see someone take a crack at professionalizing it or see other concepts it may inspire.

Wow! Too many great concepts to rank while tired! Our team will do some conference calling and pick it up again first thing maƱana.

It would really help to see some color concepts at this point. We have very good, but very different concepts we're going to have to choose between. We not necessarily wed to any color scheme. We could do a simple hunter green (or other medium to dark green) and white. At one point, we talked internally of doing gold on a darker slate blue background. The energy of a bright orange accent and green together could really set a logo off. That being said, we're open to anything and we'd love to see what the designers think would set their logo concept apart.
