KSean Sports PhotographyLogo Design Contest

Thank you for these entries. They give me a good starting point for understanding what I'm looking for. Since our company is a sports photography business, I'd like to see the word "Sports" more prominently displayed in the logo. The logo should also be more sporty in appearance. I'd also like to see the logo more "Web 2.0" with things like colors, 3D, refections/shadows etc. Thanks!!

#10 is closer to what I'd like. The word "SPORTS" is big enough to capture someone's attention. I'd like to add more color - I don't like the grey lettering. I like the "K" in "KSean" but the "Sean" part is harder to read. The name "KSean" isn't very common so it needs to be legible at first glance, but I like having it as a different font from the rest of the text. I also like how it hangs off to the left of the rest of the words. I don't want the logo to be too cluttered, but can we add a small abstract mark? And/or maybe some other effect(s) like drop shadow or reflection? Thanks.

One thing to keep in mind is that my photography business isn't so much about art as it is about capturing memories. So the logo doesn't need to be too artistic. It needs to capture someone's attention by being legible and colorful. The logo shouldn't give the impression of "expensive" but rather it should have a more "every day", casual appearance as the main customers of my business will be families. I don't want them to think that my services are expensive but rather that my services are "necessary" and will be something they will enjoy for a lifetime.

For #12 and #13 please see my comments about the word "Sports" being more prominent in the logo. It is important for the logo to show that the type of photography we do is sports-related. I like the font used for "KSean" but the "S" needs to be uppercase, not lower. The color scheme is good although I'd like to see an secondary color added. The abstract mark in both of these is interesting but I think is a little to fancy. I like the dark center of these abstract marks as well as the blue circle around the center. But the "curly" parts around the edge are too fancy.

I really appreciate all the work you've done so far. You are all very creative. But since you know more about graphic design than I do, please keep submitting ideas as I am not 100% sure of what I am looking for. I'm open to seeing other variations on what you've done so far. I know I asked for an abstract mark, but I'm not sure it is working in this logo. Although I like the ones you've come up with, i don't think the marks are adding to the concept of "sports photography". Feel free to submit logos without a mark or with other marks you think might convey this idea. Thanks again. I look forward to seeing more of your creative ideas.

The more I look at #12 the more I like the symbol. The outer part of it looks like a camera shutter, but is abstract enough not to be the typical camera shutter image. The only thing is I'd like the symbol to also look like a ball. Would it be possible to change the center portion so that it appears to be a ball that is curved outwards? I don't know how to design it exactly - you're the expert on that, but I am thinking that it could be a solid colored circle with some light falling onto it so that it appears to be curved outwards - sort of a 3D effect? If we could do that and combine that with the text from #16 I think it would look good.

I really like the concept of #17, #18, #19, and #20. The orange and blue lines show action or movement. The "L"s around the corner of the symbol sort of look like the edges of a picture frame and the red circle symbolizes a ball. I also really like the shadow. That is a nice touch that makes the logo more alive. I'd rather have the "K" and "Sean" on the same line although its OK if the "K" stands out somehow (maybe inside a colored block or maybe just a different font). But is OK if the "K" doesn't stand out from "Sean". That is not a requirement from me but I'm willing to see some ideas if you have some.

Overall this is a very nice logo. I would like "KSean" to have a more "fun" font - but not childish. I would like to see "Sports" a bit bigger (not too much). Orange isn't my favorite color, but it seems to work well here. If you'd like to try other colors, please feel free -- as long as they aren't neutral colors (grey, brown, etc).

I've been thinking about colors and since sports are mostly played outdoors on fields with grass, perhaps we could incorporate green into the logo. All the logos you've done so far have blue, which is good - I like blue. Two other colors that I like are gold (not yellow) and purple (not too light). I'm open to other colors as well. I don't know how many colors becomes too many - probably no more than three - but I'll leave that up to all of you since your the designers. Thanks for all your entries so far.

I like the font in #24, especially the word "Sports". The font is very sporty looking and the shadow on the text works great. The size of the word "Sports" is nice - it really stands out. I'd like "KSean" to be a bit bigger so it stands out too (since it is not a common word, I think having it more noticeable is necessary) and not grey. I like the line to the right of "KSean" in #25. If it could be incorporated into #24 and if the text could be a different color it would be great.

The incorporation of a photo-like icon to the right of "Sports" is nice. Its not as abstract as some of the other designs, but it works well. I'll now have to think about how abstract I want the symbol to be.
