Good Morning (for those of you in the US), and Good Whatever (for those of you around the globe)! I think getting to work with all of you is so COOOOOOL!
I just spent an hour on the phone with my partner going over ALL the submitted entries, examining closely what we like about fonts, typography, colors, spacing, arrangement of elements, and the like.
I had never seen or examined this site before we created a contest a few days ago. I've been trying to read the boards to understand how it works. I hope that posting this comment is the ethical thing to do?!? If not, please let me know. To be fair to ALL and so that designers don't think we're giving private info about our preferences to one or another, we want to share what we *think* we like thus far. Of course, we didn't know what we wanted when we started, so fresh ideas will ALWAYS be examined closely.
No one logo has all the elements as of now. AND there are a few things we are unsure of and still considering. As far as we can tell, we like a bold (not extra bold) font for KMRM with spacing between the letters. We like a book font for Consulting, and that in all CAPS as well. We like the LLC running vertical at the end of the word consulting. We like the M and R to have straight vertical sides where they butt up against each other. We are NOT sure if we like KMRM stacked on top of Consulting, LLC or in a horizontal row. We *think* we like KM in a color (red or blue) and RM in a dark shade of grey. We *think* we like the words "Knowledge Management" in the dark grey and "Risk Management" in the same color as the KM. Color and balance will be determined as we see that.
The icon is paramount. And while we like several, we are still open to ALL creative ideas. We would like to see traditional colors (dark red, green and blue) as well as two color in shading versions of the colors. We like three "people" or elements better than two (if your icon uses people). AGAIN, we are not married to the "person" idea, only the connecting of elements and sharing it represents. However, please remember that knowledge management is people, process, and technology... so people ARE the major driving force.
THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH! I can't believe how fantastic this experience is. You all are definitely worth WAY MORE than we are paying for this contest.
