Color Preferences
We have a website template selected at the following URL: http://54.191.232.155/

We are changing all the orange to be the same blue as the page header (#33BDEA). The background will either be a light gray (#f4f5f5) or may be switched to a darker gray (#31353d) - so we'll likely need to see two logos - one against the darker background and one against the lighter background.

In addition to the blue color (#33BDEA), we can incorporate white, black and other gray elements too.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The parent company is the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona. Their logo is available in the top left corner of this page (http://www.jewishfederations.org/). Note the use of the candle in the circle - with two shades of blue. We don't want the new logo to resemble this, but it does give a good idea of some of the things that might work well.

As far as an image/icon for Tucson goes, it could be something that is related to a desert - such as a cactus.

Ideally, I'd like the logo to contain the words "Jewish Tucson" and have some symbol like a cactus, as well as some Jewish symbol - or perhaps combine the Jewish symbol and the Tucson symbol together. We're open to many suggestions

I'm open to both flat logos (iOS7-style) and ones with more depth. Blue, gold, white are all good colors - and please remember to try incorporate elements of Tucson (such as a cactus) in the logo too.

We have made a decision to place the logo against a black background (#000000). Please keep this in mind when submitting logos. I've updated the website to show the new header background color.

We've been looking through the submissions - it's a great start, but we feel that they are missing something. So, we would like to provide a little more information:

1. We are looking for something more colorful. Yes, it will be placed against a black background, but we don't want to limit the color to the (#33bdea) only. Yes, it must be a good color compliment of this blue, but here's a link that shows many complimentary colors that we can explore:

http://www.color-hex.com/color/33bdea#

We like the idea of introducing something purple. Take a look at the following website template to get a sense of the bright contrasts and colorful design:

http://www.templatemonster.com/demo/46026.html

Now, as far as the design itself goes, the two common Tucson icons are the cactus and a mountain. So, here are a few ideas to explore

1. Using a mountain at sunset - with a purple / blue / gold glow, thereby complimenting the text
2. Combining a mountain and cactus together. #27 has already done this - but maybe we could make more use of color (blue, purple, yellow, green)
3. We often see bright yellow wild flowers with the green cactus. This could look good in a logo too

Thanks very much,
Steve
